If LV keeps this up and stays healthy, about the only thing in question about this season's women's WC is will someone other than LV atleast be able to take home the slalom globe come season's end??

LV is just skiing on a different level right now, and I think that its safe to say that training with her this fall, and having her and her both off season and mid season work ethic around to see 1st hand is bringing up the level of her teammates performances too! :flag:

Does anyone know if this is the exact same Birds of Prey course the men face, or is it slightly modified (shorter length, slightly easier gate positions) for the women?

It must be a bit frustrating to know that unless this one other person likely makes a mistake, you're playing for second. A bit like Tiger Woods from 2000ish to 2007ish.

Seems to me there are two factors at play. The first is her skill, and her ability to ski the flats better than anyone I've ever seen. (She marks that up to her DH racing abilities.)

Then of course, there is a little luck. All the strong contenders from last year are messing up on little things more than usual.

They started lower down on the course and I think they cut over to Red Tail to lower speeds. Vail Valley Foundation had a small description of the course on their blog. Not an easy thing to pull off with about a weeks notice.

I saw that earlier on Universal Sports. Watching with my 14 y.o. ski racing daughter. We laughed at his amateurish error. But the commentator had it wrong - yes, his weight was back, but it was after he hooked the tip.

Dear Universal Sports: Please bring Picabo back.

Vonn's first run at Flachau did not fair too well, #11. Not surprising since she's really a DH/GS racer, I'm surprised she was even on the start list.

Pretty much, even as a past WC slalom race winner, I'm pretty sure that these days, Lindsey looks at a "good" slalom result for her as any race she scores points in, but more like slalom for her is more practice for super combines where she can really rack up some WC points!

You laughed at Bode? Wow. The skill level must have really stepped up a few hundred notches in NJ. How many olympic ski/snowboard champions are from that wonderful state? I'm sure your above such "amateurish" errors.

It blows my mind that Vonn has twice as many points as Rebensburg, in 2nd.

Unless I'm mistaken, racing ends on Jan 1st. Is that right? correction: I'm definitely mistaken! I only looked at page one of three! They go until early March.
