Would you ski Gunbarrel at Sundown if it were open through April?

This is kind of a silly thread, but it might be interesting. Say the mighty Sundown took a 90's Superstar approach and blew an obscene base on Gunbarrel that would last through April. Would you forgo trips to NNE to run laps on Gunny throughout the month of April even if there were still bigger resorts open up north? If you live north of CT, would you drive south to ski here?

There are so many complaints about Killington not staying open late any more. I'm just curious if a little hill like Sundown offered a sick 500-600 vertical foot bump run with a 7 minute lift ride, how many would ski it.

I doesn't make sense for me to drive 2-3 hours north for that little vert when I can continue the drive to my folk's place in NH, not have to pay for lodging or food, and ski a mountain as opposed to a hill.

If I were in the neighborhood, yes. I don't think I'd drive down for it unless I had another reason to be there. In-laws in Southbury always make that a possibility . . .

Assuming they backed down to weekends only, and assuming Killington has realized that being open long into spring is a good idea for their particular business model (which could be another thread in itself,) no. Weekends are the time to ski steep stuff.

I'd seriously consider it, if Hunter/Windham/Belleayre closed, I guess that would be the next closed place to ski, with out going into VT. Plus it would be cool to meet some more AZ'rs

Unlikely for me only because of drive time. If I lived in CT and the bumps were as good as I've seen pictures of, I'd be hard pressed to drive three hours north and pay $75 to ski at Killington or somewhere else.

During peak season, I love bumps, but still enjoy other types of terrain. Spring is all about skiing bumps. Give me one good run of them and I'm entertained.

It's a touch over 2 hours for me to get to Wildcat. Sunday's are $28 from liftopia. Hard to justify skiing anywhere else with that kind of mountain and value.
