I guess they'd have to make a lot more snow. Greg sent me this pic of Gunny this morning:

Double production on Gunny and they could make mid-April. I think that's really the only reasonable goal and I would be more than happy with that. Run Fri-Sun in April on Gunny and Stinger only.

Would seeding skier's left help improve durability?

It would, but being more shade it would also mean less days of soft bumps. However, if they tried to stay open till mid-April they could stop grooming the left in April and let natty bumps form. We work to the left as the ones in the sun burn out. Sounds like a plan to me!

one thing that i noticed was how spoiled we were with the length of that. the bumps at okemo were nice but other than big bang, you wondered where the rest were.

Spot on. The fields at Okemo were longer than anything at Killington right now and Gunny was still longer than all the Okemo bumps (aside from Big Bang). Even Temptor was long compared to the limited consistent lines at KMart right now.

How very, very sad. :(

I hear ya, but ski season is not over! Just gotta drive further than 25 minutes for it.

I sent this Email to Sundown management:

I skied at Killington today. It was a 55 degree, bright sunny day in mid-April at the “Beast of the East”, the former mecca for Eastern mogul skiing, and I did not find one single trail with a string of consistently good bumps that came anywhere near what you guys offered on Gunbarrel last month. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Next year, blow the crap out of Gunny and stay open for long Friday-Sunday weekends in April. I’ll get the bumpers there.

It is with 2 papers and 2 take-home exams due in the next couple weeks and no free time during the week to work on them, nor anyone to watch the kids so I could head up midweek. :( I got robbed this year... ended before I even prepared.

Stinger is gonna be rad, but I don't think we'll have it for very long before they switch to Temptor.

I remember bumps on stinger from the early 80's- all the way down skiers right. Big fun. looking forward to revisiting.
