Ya know, I had two winters of essentially zero responsibility living in Stowe, VT during BIG snow winters there, just like this one. One at age 20 before college, the other at age 25 immediately after. Time of my life skiing 80+ days with over half in both situations being powder days. Partying, girls.....you name it.

That said, I really wouldn't want to repeat the same circumstances. I'd be content having a similar arrangement like Bob R does at Sunday River with the amount of skiing he does there, only at Stowe or Sugarbush. I have a great home life that gets better all the time with my girl and I wouldn't trade it for anything.....not even an endless winter leave of absense.

From reading on here, if anyone has the work/family/ski/music balance down like I dream of, it's Bob R. I should pm him and see if his company is hiring, lol.

This wasn't meant to be a would you be a ski bum thread. The question is would you walk away from everything in your life, the good and the bad, if you could walk right back in 4 or 5 months later after skiing all you want where you want and lose nothing but your time away.

Definitely at least once or twice.

I couldn't do it--- at least not for that long. I really think I would get bored without worlking that long. Yes really.

I miss my wife and kids when I get away for a ski day on my own...several months would be unbearable.

Me three.......plus I have two dogs that would miss me. The youngest would be whining and looking out the window just waiting for me.
