(I was going to post this in the other GSS thread, but it was locked a second before I tried to post it. This is worthy of its own thread, right? Well, I know it isn't but it is raining out and I don't feel like doing homework.)

Alright, GSS it is virtual ski off time. You must have a video of you skiing somewhere out there. Post it up!

Here is a short video of me at Wachusett Thursday night. I was trying to work on my tuck but the conditions were just too variable and icy, so I just couldn't stay under control. Usually I'm a lot better skier though, you have to believe me. There were too many gapers and newbies in my way distracting me also. Before I fall my form is almost perfect, right?

SKI OFF TIME!!!

(hint: this a complete joke, so can we not turn this into a giant serious argument. thanks.)

I've never been videotaped skiing..a tip for tucks..is hands forwards..ass up..and put your hands together in front of your face..that way the winds goes to the left and right of your hands instead of hitting your helmet creating less drag. 2 seasons ago I got the racing bug and I got alot of good tips on skiing faster...but now racing for me is frustrating so I stay out of the gates and just freeski..

You held onto your poles though, Austin. You lose points for only a partial yard sale. Lame.

Austin, you looked very good before the fall. I think your problem came from inadequate pre-loading of your uphill transition edge perpendicular to the fall-line while the new old downhill ski was still parallel to the squared vector of the root sum square of pi - your speed... DUH! :dunce:

In other words, not enough pizza and too much french fry...

That "Wachusett Gapers" video you and Marc did that comes up at the end is hilarious.

Don't forget that he forgot to re-allign his flux capacitor prior to beginning the run, thereby causing a rip in the space-time continuum and ultimately resulting in Austin being replaced by a parallel, suckier Austin, and the real Austin being sent off to another universe where robots turn into bling-wads and....ok I can't keep this up anymore.

Too funny, man.

Well if you wanna bring flux capacitors into the mix then you need to starting thinking about things like the quantum flux interfering with the natural warp field harmonic of a given ski, of course keeping the affect on the hull plating polarization and the plasma phase inverters in mind. There's also the torsional flex of the tip of the ski to longitudinal compression ratio and how that affects the arc radius when skiing in anti-gravity.
