Will stay local with likely short days Sat/Sun. I don't have Monday off so Lunch Runs will be out of the question with most schools off and a bunch of people off. Maybe try to sneak up after work.

Had the same experience in the MaxPass era. But Monday the joint was empty and they got like 10 inches overnight. Was fantastic that day!Last year I went to Tremblant. I’ll never make that mistake again lol. Enormous lines!
Nice. Post a few pictures of Schweitzer if you get inspired. I might go there later this season.Heading to Schweitzer Thursday night. Hoping Friday and Monday are decent crowd wise, maybe do a 1/2 day Saturday and come back for some twilight laps under the lights.
They’ve had a good early season so far though no storms in the forecast. Love Sandpoint so we’ll have fun no matter what.

Assuming that you are doing your migration to Utah, your timing is great. The skiing is getting nice.I'll be driving across the country on Sat, Sun and Mon (MLK Day). A bit of a polar vortex will be sweeping across the mid-West same time. Hopefully, the lowest temps in CO will be over by Monday as I plan to ski Tues-Fri at Winter Park and Copper. Then I drive on to Utah for an extended stay.
Last January I made a similar drive and faced this in Kansas:
And this in CO.
When it comes to winter driving I'll take cold over blowing snow. For skiing I like it the other way around
I dont think anyone's used to the cold that's about to hit Colorado, unless you're a resident of Nunavut.Heading to Aspen with my daughter saturday-tuesday-going to be cold, good thing we are used to it
Always found that Playoff Football both Sat and Sun will keep the crowds to a moderate levelWouldn’t ski that weekend if Dr. King himself invited me.

Now do 10,000 feet. Potentially dangerous levels of cold + casual ski tourists = frostbite.0 in Granby this morning, but Sunday supposed to be a high of 12 in Denver so yeah its gonna get cold. Some snow supposed to accompany the front as it comes through the Front Range.
Double check, but I'm pretty sure it's only blacked out on Saturday. I think you're good to go.It's a good thing Stowe is blacked out for me this weekend because I'd be so tempted to drive right back up on Sunday
Maybe Mt Snow will reel in enough snow to be worth checking out on Monday for a bit. Plenty of lifts to avoid the zoo at the base.
coldest ive done is -23 F at tremblant on blue bird day- +4 degrees with sun not too bad. How does altitude play into it (seriously asking)? Now do 10,000 feet. Potentially dangerous levels of cold + casual ski tourists = frostbite.
