I'll stick with the East since I've only been to 4 places out west.
I don't know which 4 out west you've been to. But for me, the first 3 trip out west (Summit county, Salt Lake City, Taos) were all far, far away BETTER than the "best" of the east there's simply no comparison!

My favorite in the east specifically:

- Jay: best glades, and best snow
- Plattekill: best vibe, and best snow "downstate"
- Thunder Ridge: it's only 20 min from home. Open for night skiing so I can hit it after work if I got bitten by the itch (or need to try out some equipment) Best access.

My person "bests"

Best glades: Jay (when you get the most snow, it only stands to reason)
Best variety: Sugarbush
Best vibe: Magic/Black (NH)
Best access: Cannon (I mean, how can you get any better?)
Best NYC metro area: Hunter (haven't been to Plattekill, yet)
Most underrated: Gore
Best overall: Wildcat
