    Beware of Northeast Skiology

Admin, Can we please get Matt an "Industry Rep" badge for his Avater? It seems like the rep that he's made for himself within the industry could use a makeover. https://vtskiandride.com/northeast-skiology/

    Indy Ski Pass

Just ordered my Indy and Ikon passes for next year. With the renewal discounts and deferral from Ikon it wasn't too much for more Northeast Skiing options than I can get to.

    Indy Ski Pass

Worst case I'll use it 8 times, Ideally 16 or more, either way I think it's a great value. I had a touch of sticker shock when I saw the price for this year, but with the discount and how underpriced it was last year, it still makes so much sense.

Telemark Ski - anyone know about it

There can be climbing wires in the heel piece that flip up and down. I can remember really old school guys having a contraption made out of PVC pipe and some straps that would sit under their boots.

    Mount Snow: Inside Track

They were embarrassingly understaffed/unprepared for today. Lots not plowed, no semblance of lifeline management. EuroFunnel and no singles lines so chairs were going up with twos and threes. Fantastic day, but it was a running joke on every chair what a shitshow today was.

    Will Vail buy Haystack?

Crews under supervision of USFS can legally clear glades in those areas. There will be signage and parking. We’ve been skiing over there for years, it just will be more out in open.

    Will Vail buy Haystack?

The USFS, The Catamount Trail, and SoVTA have begun the process to create officially sanctioned backcountry ski zones off Deerfield Ridge, as well as other areas around the valley. This model has been successful at Dutch Hill and Brandon Gap, as well over in NH.

    Vail Meet your Match: Alterra

I loved my MaxPass, and told everyone who would listen about it during it's first season. I'd have one again this year, but decided to get a pass at Magic instead of adding Max to my Stratton pass. I don't have the free time to go driving all over New England any more to make Max worth it to me...

    Vail Meet your Match: Alterra

Guess I should have read the article. I bet when they announce their pass offerings in the spring it will include tiered access to all of them, like the Epic Pass structure. Doesn't make sense for them not to.

    Looking for Stratton info

While Stratton has a well deserved reputation as a cruisers mountain, there are a few pitches that get bumped up, and they actually have some pretty great trees (that don't see much traffic). I grew up skiing there but, aside for a nostalgic trip now and again, don't get over there much. The...

    Tucks conditions?

http://www.mountwashington.org/weather/ is where to start for weather up there, specifically the Auto Road Vertical Profile and Higher Summits Forecast. Things can be 50 and sunny in Jackson, but 15 and windy as all hell up top. I went yesterday and it was perfect, below freezing at night...

    Speaking of goofy lifts

The old Mixing Bowl lift @ Snow that had the chain instead of a cable, and the hood to keep the grease from dripping all over ya. Those little 2 person clamshell gondolas were pretty goofy as well,
