    The 2014 Boating Thread

    The 2014 Boating Thread

There's a party cove not far from us on Winnipesaukee, and I would be sad if I owned a home in that bay. Saturdays and Sundays during high season are a sh*t show. Google "Braun Bay" and see what comes up. It's a fun place to hang out every once in a while, but best not to think about the...

    Andy Zee: Tribute Thread

I only met Andy once, but I have always been impressed with his devotion to Vee. I hope he is able to follow his passion wherever he is now, and that he is able to watch over Vee.

The skiing stereotype of being well off

Everything is relative. When my kids were little we would pay for set-ups for one, two, three and then four kids; plus lift tickets; plus lessons; plus there was always one in daycare. Yes, we always took our lunch, and yes we always looked for deals on lift tickets, but that only mitigated how...

    Loon Mountain

Yup, that's what I bought. Two at Loon and two at Gunstock. Not a great deal, but better than paying full price. We've had Loon/Boyne passes for years. Didn't break even last year, so we thought we'd try something different. We ski BW for $15 on a Sunday afternoon. Would love a similar...

    Loon Mountain

I bought a couple of passes through SkiNH over the weekend. Is the resident deal similar to the one at BW?

    2012 Boating Thread

Looks like the big boat won't go in the water here this summer. Winter project never got completed, so the Baja will probably stay on the trailer. That's likely the fate of the 13-foot Whaler as well. It's in need of having the seats and trim re-done (again); and now that we have no young 'uns...

Are there more people younger or older than you?

Are there more people younger or older than you?

Woohoo! You tell 'em WD! I'm lookin' at 55 at the end of the month. Don't like the number, but I feel good! : )

I scored the same as Nick except for Levis. I wonder if that's an age thing.

    Buying vs Demo'ing

What about the PITA factor? When you did your calculations, did you add in the time spent in the shop? I guess if it's only 4 or so times a season, it might not be a big deal, but it's definitely something I would consider.

    On mountain etiquette

Sunday at Loon I was in the queue for the Seven Brothers chair and there was a bit of anarchy. Three sets of twos jumped in front of my husband and me as we approached the lift. A man around 30 and a young boy were just about to cut in front of me, but I had had enough. "Excuse me...it's NOT...

Do you think you kill it?

Standing at the top of Ripsaw or Angel Street at Loon I often think my kids are trying to kill me.
