Looks like from the base area webcam during the daylight that the mountain ops building out in the main parking lot area caught fire around dinner time this evening...

Going to be some serious logistical strategizing sessions going on once they get a full assessment of the viability (or not) of the building for sure!Heard from a firefighter it's likely a complete loss, or close. They'll have their hands full this summer.
Additionally, with other resorts in their portfolio, some short term "sharing" of equipment/staff from other Peak Resorts properties [/URL]
Last night, Tuesday, June 4, 2019, a fire occurred at our mountain operations building. Local and regional fire departments responded quickly along with many members of our own Mount Snow & Peak Resorts staff. Luckily the fire occurred after normal business hours and no one was injured in the blaze, which consumed the south end of the building. While this did include our snowmaking staff offices, all of our snowmaking infrastructure was moved out of that building a few years ago, as part of our West Lake Water Project and so our snowmaking abilities are unaffected.
Firefighters from West Dover were joined by firefighters from East Dover, Whitingham, Wilmington, Wardsboro, Newbrook, Stratton, Brattleboro, Readsboro, Marlboro, Putney, Dummerston, Jamaica, Stamford, Townshend, Winhall, and Guilford who quickly responded to the scene and brought the fire under control overnight.
Times like this make you really appreciate those who put their lives in danger for the safety and security of others.
We’d like to extend our gratitude and thanks to the firefighters, first responders, and public safety personnel from across the region, who assisted in controlling this fire and ensuring the safety of all.
