Unless the local Snowmaking Pro Highwaystar says K makes snow tonight. I'm not buying into to it. All hail Highwaystar All hail Highwaystar.
Anyways. Game On Tonight. It will be interesting if Mount snow or SR can make snow.

Going to have to be right one of these days, no?

 Like I said in one of the other rumor threads, throw enough random darts and one will eventually stick.

Yup. Just as it wasn't a rumor yesterday that the snowmaking crew was up on the hill last night. Hysterical how some people on here that don't even live close to the area think they know more about what's going on up here.

The question is, will they open this weekend if they have enough base between what they blow and the natural they receive.

On the hill and making snow are 2 completely different things. If this low pressure system doesn't start moving East, it's going to be a while until the warm moist stuff leaves and the colder, dryer good snowmaking stuff shows up. Right now, with the low heading up the Hudson River valley and NOT the CT River Valley as it was expected to, the Low is basically going to have to get into Canada before it starts dragging enough cold air down behind it for anyone in VT to make some snow tonight :(

Heck, as of 3PM, it's barely below freezing up ontop of Mount Washington :(

You may want to check a different weather page. You're obviously getting bogus weather info.

You may also want to use a different map of the northeastern United States as well. Mount Washington is not in Central Vermont.

Nope, just the National weather service flight level winds/temps forcast, which isn't calling for the cold air (even then it's still just calling for temps between 24 and 30) between 3,000 and 6,000 feet to establish themselves until after 3AM.

Mount Washington in a storm like this where the center of the storm is still SW of Vermont IS relevant since it gives an accurrate measure of the aloft temps that are FEEDING this storm until it passes.

I wouldn't want to use Mt Washington to forecast the changeover, look at a composite including ALB and BTV winds aloft as well. These aren't always a good predictor as sometimes the snow forms higher and falls through the lower layers.

The several Wx pages I've looked at plus real time radar seems to favor the dentist's forecast over the self puffed Big K. The backside never has anywhere near the amount of moisture of the front side, and every hour that is rain is less snow on the ground. Right now it looks like the center of circulation is over the Berkshires, headed due north, and the snow line is still about the Hudson. The center may end up going west of K, never good, especially with warm ocean temps out there still. Not a complete inside runner, but way too far west for good snowfall at K. K gets 3-4 inches.

"....We have already had reports upwards of a foot in many locations south and west of Albany. Mount Jefferson in Schoharie County has picked up 16"....Middleburgh also in Schoharie County picking up 12".....Summit in Schoharie County picking up 11". This storm is defintely elevation driven, the higher the elevation, the greater the snow totals. "

Adirondacks win, Greens lose.
