Regardless, glad to see they have guns going on it. I agree on NLynx. They will want that lift in service, as I imagine crowds will be large.
Actually, for the holiday period, Stein's makes more sense than HS/Waterfall or Ripcord. We never liked to make snow on trails under the lift on weekends, and given the large crowds that Gate House attracts, especially on a weekend, it wouldn't make the best guest experience to have 40 guns going on a trail right under the lift. Sure, you can point them low, but the wind always messes with ya, especially on the Waterfall. Same goes for Ripcord, which I can see them only going here if you didn't have the temps down low and it wasn't a weekend.
Now, Birch/Sunrise again, that would be the logical go-to if you didn't have temps down low and if it was a holiday period. But, they may not be ready for that yet. Birch/Sunrise is mostly land guns. They would need to be dug out/removed from their current location (if thery're not outside the locker room yet), then they have to be placed in location. You'd also need several really good cold nights to make good progress up there, then the guns can be moved directly to HS/Waterfall/LHS with "relative" ease. I'm only saying "ease" since they're at least on that side of the mountain and you could drag them right down from Birch onto HS, or vice versa, from HS, stage them for transport to Birch.
It is amazing how much pressure North Lynx takes off Gate House. Just seems like the mountain flows a lot better when its all open. Or maybe its because not everyone who goes up North Lynx comes back down to the plateau (they go "other places"... over to the Rock, into Slide Brook, etc).
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and is enjoying all the snow. I was up at the mountain last weekend for reasons other than skiing, and I'll be waiting until sometime after 1/1/26 to get my first turns of the season in. Hopefully the snowy start continues!

(a touch too dense)As for snow-making...Stein's before North Lynx is an interesting choice. I get not wanting to make snow under GH during holidays, but North Lynx would give you an entire extra pod and doesn't have that issue. Stein's gives you minimal extra at this point.

Set it to say scheduled rather than closed. If your wasting your labor to code it to change to closed automatically or to manually change it to closed, just set it to scheduled.

I've never been there early enough for donuts...I only make it there early afternoon shortly before they close on days I'm done skiing in the morning and run down to town for groceries or lunch.
get there early and the bagels are still hot...and you can also get a killer breakfast sandwich...
Typo corrected on snow report
That's really not an option on any day I'm skiing. My condo is on the mountain. I'd lose 30+ minutes in the morning driving down to town and back from my condo.
My Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese on an English muffin is my go to that I have making quickly in the morning down to a science.

CR skied great early. My 9am run down Deathspout might have been the best conditions I’ve ever skied in it!

Guns definitely visible on Stein's from the Gate House Plaza webcam...
Could have just been the 'cold smoke' rising up and appearing to be along HGT. Hope they can hammer until the junk show comes in tomorrow night
