I assume both. Seems like the smart play, I wonder how many would have shown. Wouldn't be me.
Yeah, looking at Sugarbush live cams now - empty ( lifts open at 8)

Beautiful scenes tho.

It’s a 1975 Yan with some era Dopp EJ chairs prior to it being reinstalled in 2007. Only thing that looks new from 2007 is the return terminal.

By declining to say whether people were injured in the accident, Vail told us people were injured in the accident.

“the evacuation was safely completed”
”appreciate the efforts of our team members who safely took care of our guests”

Pretty shitty PR spin if there were injuries

what was the incident? Did the lift just stop working? Did a chair fall off? Did it derope?

if it just broke down, the likelyhood of a injuries is minimal

According to Reddit report, “A parent and child were flung 15 feet when the cable of the little eagle bunny chair snapped”
https://www.reddit.com/r/vail/comments/1qmxlpi
If the cable snapped, there would be no rope evac to do. All of the passengers + chairs would be on the ground.

Deroping from the bullwheel or a tower could certainly make a harsh, abrupt stop that causes someone to fall out of a chair, though. Especially anyone who didn't have the bar down.

Exactly. I am skeptical of a "cable snapping". Perhaps it was something else? Or a change in tension?
