Well Ive long since retired, my sons moved away,
I called him up just the other day.
I said Id like to see you, if you dont mind.
He said Id love to Dad, if I can find the time.
You see my new jobs a hassle and the kids have the flu,
But its sure nice talking to you Dad,

And as he hung up the phone it occurred to me,
Hed grown up just like, my boy, was just like me.

Having Thanksgiving with the grand kids has never been the issue just the first time with my daughter's in laws. But I have been given "permission" to ride in the morning and dinner will be served at 4 PM so I will ride until 1 and then head on over. Plenty of time to do both .. that is if Crotched is open.

I meant to ask, but..

Why not go ski *WITH* the kids? ;-P

I missed that. Yea, earliest is Friday, latest is Sat. They won't be able to turn on the guns again until Friday around 1am if forecasts hold. Hard to tell how much of the mountain is actually covered at this point, no more pics have been posted up. At the very least, Plutos Plunge is def not going to be open. Much h8 for lack of pics and only that 1 cam. :-D

They are 2, 4 and 7 and the oldest has had only one lesson, noway I am taking that task on by myself. Looks like Mother Nature made the decision for me ..nothing open near by and the ear infections for the kids this week. Thanksgiving dinner cancelled for the in-laws but I will be still there ... I am heading up to Attitash on Friday because it looks like that will be the only way I will get my Granite Pass .. they still don't have a photo of me even after Crotched took one of me.

DoH on both accounts. Sorry to hear (or not, depending) about the inlaws.

The Granite Pass thing is kinda sad, sounds like growing pain side effects of Peak owning three mountains.

I am not much of a respecter of days. I will make myself available on Christmas and Thanksgiving, but if folks won't give me the time of day on any other day of the year..... well, don't ruin these two days for me.

The big attraction to these two days is that most everybody can get them off and you can get the big get togethers on those two days. Basically, I can see my brother occasionally throughout the year, and on other days throughout the year, I can see my sister. But on these two days, there is a real opportunity to see them both together.

That being said, none of us feel like we need to spend 18 hours with each other.

That is a great point. I think everyone made such good points I am now confused. I guess it comes down to your own personal situation. That being said though, why do the inlaws get to cancel?

Just kidding Jerry. I hope you have a good time with whatever you do. Let us know what you decide to do.
