It would be just the excuse I need to avoid my mother in-law this weekend ;)

If they open this weekend, I'm confident myself and Mrs. Glenn will be there Sunday.

If they open I'll be there. This weeks' weather isn't looking too good though, r**n Thursday-Friday...

Doesn't sound too likely that they'll be opening this weekend to me:

Ok, here’s the scoop as promised. It was a close call since the snowmaking temperatures were marginal, but we waited as long as they could before making a decision just in case the weather took a turn for the colder. However, after the last snowmaking/stock piling effort, our snowmakers are a bit hesitant to blow snow only to see it melt away again. It’s just not good for morale. So based on our current weather forecast, we probably won’t be firing up the guns this week. I know this isn’t the news you were hoping for but hey, why don’t you pick up a new beanie? That always cheers me up.

I'm holding out hope for the weekend of the 22nd. Hopefully, that'll happen. Then we can head up again Thanksgiving weekend.

nevermind:angry: doctor is my brain was working at 10% yours would be....1%

Just busting chops ;)

Seriously though, when mother nature is giving us some crappy weather to make an attempt at getting open, you need to step back for a minute and think like a business owner and not a rabid skier(and I know that's a real tough thing for us here to do). While Mount Snow has run the fan guns a bunch this year for the jib park, they've also had a full mountain stock piling completely melt out once this year.

Last year they did an awesome job of opening early, but just remember it took basically a 60 hour continuous window of snowmaking in VERY good weather to open. Even last weekend, this week was just looking like 3 maybe 12-18 hour windows with atleast one of those days with higher humidity and then a multi-day rain event at the end of the week. Not a good business decision to try and go for it.

Next week though looks Awesome for snowmaking conditions, and I think the only question for Mount Snow next week will be is opening day Friday the 21st or Saturday the 22nd??
