This morning at Blue mountain there was a group of about 10 ski instructors who kepts cutting in front of the whole line which was pretty long. They weren't giving a lesson or anything just skiing around for fun. Should they be allowed to cut the line when they're not giving a lesson? I called the one guy out for blatently cutting in front of me and a few hundred others and he looked at me like I was trying to ruin his day..bunch of bullsh*t..

Here are a couple of thoughts.... 2 cents worth.

Ski Patrol and Mt Ops often enlist Ski Instructors who are on the mountain but not teaching to assist with trail opening/trail closure/condition reports. So what you "think" you see might not be the whole story.

Then again, there are people everywhere who will stand proudly on their perceived " perks", even if it isn't always the best choice at the time.

The one instructor was a major tool. The girl instructor wasn't that bad looking though.

Yeah but she has tool-cooties..and a circle circle dot dot is not gonna cure that..anyway hopefully I don't get my ass kicked at the season pass party..LMBFAO!!!!

No reasons for instructors to cut the line if they're not with a lesson. I can totally understand with a lesson; someone paid good money for a specific amount of time in instruction and they should be allowed to maximize that time. But if there are no students, then the instructors should have to wait in line just like anybody else.

I don't care as long as it's not chronic. I'm lucky enough to usually ski in areas where there isn't a line, or a move to another lift. I generally stay away from lifts that lessons use, especially ski-wee classes which consume 10 chairs.... If they were actually doing real work (like bringing a beer to the liftie), then I'd let it go ;)

hmmm lets take a look at that. while i think it would be great for an instructor to hook a lifty up with a beer i dont think it would be such a great idea while he was manning the shack. so while i agree in theory there is no reason for the instructor to cutting. i have no idea why this topic pisses me of so. strange.

well, they're probably still on the look out for issues/problems for the mountain when they're skiing, so they're doing some good, and they are employees of the mountain, so cutting the line is probably a nice perk (it's not like they're making a lot of money).

if they're giving you the finger as they're cutting the line, though, then that's not cool.

What about ski instructors getting in early second tracks on a powder days on non-groomed trails?
