Hey All,

I'm back from a fun session at Blue mountain. I arrived at 330PM and it was 43 degrees under sunny skys. The lower lot was about 1/6th full and there was no liftline for the 6-pack. I first skied a freshly groomed Paradise, then at the top I saw Zaldon. We skied Razors which was fast with a few small bumps near the top. Then a freshly groomed Lazy Mile..we were first down it and skied the whole mile. We then skied Dreamweaver..it turns out a patroller was chasing me and Zaldon but I managed to squeeze onto a chair and Zaldon ended up riding the lift with the patroller. Instead of getting a lecture from the patroller at the top, I skied down a Tuts to a freshly groomed Switchback and waited for Zaldon at the bottom and apparently Zaldon said he was making slow and deliberate turns so no citation.

We skied Challenge which was pretty solid and in the shadows and Switchback again which was sugarsnow only a half hour after it was groomed. Then a few runs later we went back to Paradise. I saw a patroller from around the first corner so I slowed down to 5mph and got into a turkey tuck and made a bunch of turns in a powerwedge..well I got whistled at and Zaldon as well but I kept skiing by in my powerwedge turkey tuck and the patroller skied right along side me and told me to stop. I listened and he told me to talk my skis off..so I did..and he was going for his pads and I said,"I slowed down when I saw you"..he said he was stopping me because I was in a tuck and my poles were behind my back..I said I was going slow and you should really get that guy....I pointed to Jim flying by in his one piece Red skisuit..he said he was not in a tuck..I walked over to him..put out my hand, said I'm Doug...shook hands with him..He said he was Dave..I said,"I'll ski slow on here..can I just go and join my friend"..and he let me go..so I skied the rest of the run..tuckless..then the next run I ran into Jim and he said Epicski Bruce got stopped for fast skiing on Paradise..and he doesn't even ski that fast..wow..Johann must have all the patrollers on a special speed control assignment..my getting stopped on Paradise was rediculous and I have Zaldon as my witness..oh well..

After 14 runs and 2 hours and 10 minutes..I was getting hungry and the snow was getting crusty and starting to set up..Guys watch your speed on Paradise..even if it's empty or you're in a power wedge turkey tuck..on a Monday..they are watching for you..with their whistles ready..

ok, for a moment i'll assume you aren't making this stuff up.. WTF is up with the ski patrol @ blue? being on TV make them think they are special in some way? did you once post that a SP made you ski along with him/her so she could judge how well you skied before letting you go? if this is even 1/2 true it is F'd up.

They have a powertrip..most of them can't ski and so they get off harrassing good skiers and riders..yes Paradise is a slow skiing trail but it's a freaking Monday and it's empty..if EpicSki Bruce with his white hair blowing in the breeze can get whistled at..anybody can..and it's 100 percent true and I have been harrassed by the ski patrollers at Blue mountain since high school..they weren't acting for the TV show...and it's all subjective..I could be going 10mph but if they think I'm going fast..they'll whistle at you..It was funny how the dude asked me to take off my skis..so I couldn't get away..in hindsight, I should have taken off my pants and said..oh wait..this isn't the ski patrol hut..lol..

the reality is your on private property so they can do what ever the hell they want. it sucks and i would not last a season there with out getting put in the database. the only place at the creek you have to go slow is horizon. first thing in the morning you can go as fast as you want anywhere. they only person that has ever given an earfull about my speed was some fuknut instructor who brought a little kid on zero g. they shouldn't have been there and when ski patrol came over they agreed. o and i had a dumb ass kid crash into me twice on sunday because he was following me around. the second time he crashed into a stiff arm and when i picked himup by the back of the jacket like a cat by the cruff of his neck i told if i see him crash into anyone again im going down and drag his ass out the the cops and file assult charges. pretty sure he pissed himself. his friends laughed pretty hard at him.

I don't remember the Blue Mt ski patrol being this aggressive in previous years. Midweek you could haul down Paradise, no worries.

The ones you see in the picture are too busy going to reality TV parties in LA..it's the ones you don't see...the gritty, determined and battle-weary who are out there hiding around the corner..ready to chasedown a fast..in-control skier/rider..it's got to the point where season passholders send day-ticketholders down first as decoys who report back whether SP Ski Patrol is out doing speed control on Paradise..and Paradise is a really fun cruiser..and you need to ski it to get to Dreamweaver so I'm not going to just stop skiing that part of the mountain..I'll just have to take my chances..I'm already in the database due to my incident with Johann Buckley earlier in the season and me calling him out the other day did not help my case..so I need to stay on the straight and narrow..

What exactly is the consequence of "put in the database"? Is it like getting a warning ticket?

If you are in the database and get in trouble again..you can get kicked out..for either the rest of the day..or even a few days and in serious cases, the rest of the season. Prior to this season, my last time in the database was three years ago..

looking at the trail map, can you slip through the woods to get to dream weaver off Razor's edge instead of taking the slow ski trail?

you know what is funny? looking at the trail map, if i put my hand over the right side of the map the place looks a lot like ski sundown :dunce:
