Unless all the local news outlets are completely wrong, Obama is flying in to Bozeman and having a " Town Hall " thing and then touring Yellowstone Park. I may be wrong in saying he is on vacation. This is what he does for work I guess.

When I was there last year, I made the same observation. It you look at the trees, it actually appears to be two or three glades already, which must be streams running down the mountain. I was told by another skier that Cannon has stated there will be no trails on that side of Mittersill, mainly because it wouldn't hold any snow.

There must be other reasons though, because it seems to me that a gladed trail would be the answer as it would hold snow much better.

I keep looking this pic of Cannon and think that a run from the top down the ridge of Mittersill would be a great run.

I miss having Bridger Bowl and Big Sky as my home mountains..

HaHaHaHa! LOL! Definitely the Creek, how could the Loaf compare. If only you could see the other peaks in that picture.

Anyway here's my home mountain - Hidden Valley:

Obviously the best of the three, but seriously to keep with the thread HV has a nice mellow old school vibe and is almost never crowded, the longest lift line I ever waited in was about 1 minute. Also the people there are very friendly.

I wonder how full that place gets. I stayed in the one at the base of the Canyons and it was fine. But it was the Canyons. I would be bummed to be slope side at 'Vernon Valley' on a crowded weekend.

Better, I missed this early. Dude, I honestly forgot to resize it. I deleted it in the previous post.

Let's play nice together in the sandbox. BTW, I am not a tool.

Cannon is lucky to have had me hold passes for 34 years in a row.We have a spare "natural" nelsap ski area by using a little legpower.Pretty much ski hi-speed anywhere within reason.Patrol will almost never pull a ticket for skiing anywhere you want.Very few joeys",most are intimadated by it's overblown reputation.Lastly,a couple hundred of my best friends meet 60+ times a year starting every Friday night.

I do have a list just as long with it's shortcomings.

Shhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! We need to keep this a secret. List the shortcomings. We don't want the good things to spread.

Out of curiosity, what's the drive time to Cannon from NYC. It looks like a pretty cool place...

2 hours from my house and NYC is 3 1/2 from my house. Make sure if you come that far the snow is good and the weather looks good, because all of the wind for NE comes through notch at times. Not joking. Had the car door slam on my leg one day and decided to go to Loon and it was dead calm.
