just an FYI, the lower part of the SR open trails is all slush and mud, the rain and high temps did a number on it this week, i will tell you this one of our reporters went "hiking" to the top of t2 on thursday, he didnt get far, not much left

but enjoy paying the ticket prices if they do open this weekend

Watch out for grass and rocks, and we will see the skiers in November at the Apres4eva party, when SR is REALLY open!

is your cutting edge early season reporting going to be in this season's documentary?

Why are you trying so hard to rag on SR? You realize that there are several SR regulars on this board who can, and are, invalidate your ridiculous claims, right?

If you really want to represent some sort of "crew" who "reports" on mountains in the NE try getting your facts straight before you start typing. You may want to try harder to not sound like an arrogant know it all too, since you clearly don't know it all.

Is Apres4eva the name of your "crew"?

Seems like we have conflicting reports.
Given that the Apres4eva party thought that Sunday River should not have opened early with T2 via uploading, I think there is definite credibility issues regarding what they think of skiing at Sunday River this weekend. Personally, I would actually trust the resort (an admittedly biased source) than the Apres4eva party concerning early season operations.

Also, I think that the "reporter" for the Apres4eva party who hiked on Thursday is not icelanticskier that posts on T4T and FTO whose report was glowing to say the least.

Conditions are holding up OK... SR has asked employees to NOT ski this weekend, so as to save it for the Paying Patrons. That being said - they ran the triple for a few hours this afternoon so that we could get our weekend fix in.

T2 is in great shape. Punch is OK below the mid station, but there IS a 10-15 foot wide bare patch on lower punch. Bring your rock skis, P-Tex, and tighten the DIN if you want to go for it. Otherwise that's the only spot, and you can get right down to the pond and walk to the triple.

Sat is going to be heavy rain, and will probably hurt the cover on lower Punch but Sunday is supposed to be good and T2 should be in good shape !

:daffy:
Enjoy

Ski bum your report smells of fail.....

I could give a more accurate report sipping a magarita and eating a chimichanga in Denver! Nice work man!

Bob R, I guess you will be skiing Say afternoon. How about a Sat night report with pictures if possible and possibly an early Sunday report if we get heavey rain Sat night. If there is enough left I may drive up Sunday AM. You are our eys on the hill! Thanks

Perhaps you should apres4eva (eva, really? Is that supposed to be like gangsta?) a little less and do some of the "reporting" yourself. I understand you're very biased toward the Loaf, but you have to get over that. It's old, tired, and lame!
Bobr and I both skied SR today and it was wet. Yes, the last 100 feet of Punch is gone, but as for T2 - it was in very good shape. I don't know if I'm a credible reporter, but I was/am there.
Skiing in October is hit or miss, but it's fun to be doing it at all!

Anyone ragging on a New England ski area investing in offering product in October is BAD for our sport.

From the 'don't open' poll to the severely misreporting snow loss in this thread, skibumME2009, has clearly got a motive to inflicting economic pain on SR.....not cool.

It might be a joke for him, but the biggest joke in it all if he's that lame of a Sugarloaf homer is any economic harm he hopes to bring on SR with his blatant slander will only come back to hurt him.

Earth to skibumME2009, the better Sunday River does financially, the better you will be off as a SL skier.

but perhaps I'm doing even more harm by posting this as it will only feed some 19 year old ignorant trolls ego

The fact that they were able to even open this weekend considering the terrible weather this past week and Saturday says quite a lot - also, two weekends of solid skiing in October in general is quite awesome.

Sorry. I am low tech and can't do pictures Usually I don't turn on the computer on weekends until I get home.

I skied Sat 1:15 to 3.30. The heavy ncp we had south on the ride up really was not on the hill till after 5pm. It was wet but not the drenching that came Sat Night. Sunday was crusty the first run. After that it got soft and was fine, T2 held up very well. The far skiers right took a beating, but mid and gun side on the left was fine. Mid punch was ok till rocking chair. More walking on Sunday than sat, but so much better than down loading. I only went for a short time today I had stuff to do at home. Pretty decent start to the season for me.

thankx to the Boyne and Sunday River crew for the efforts. I passed out the rest of the candy I had, Early season is over. Ready for colder weather to come.

I skied this afternoon and T2 was fabulous. Soft corn and some bumps. Below mid-station was marginal. Certainly better than downloading, but had to take skis off a couple times. T2 did fine during the NCP, but they really need at least a night of snowmaking temps, which may happen tomorrow night.

Reporters with credibility, something apreski4eva doesn't have. Thanks for the reports Bob and JerryG.
