Well we could see it coming with the current weather pattern. Even though Loon fired up its snowmaking last night, they have postponed opening until December 4th.

Boooooo.....

See you at one for that cocktail on turkey day Bobr! :snow:

unlikely there will be any NH skiing. Wonder if that's ever happened before. Ragged was scheduled to open the 27th, but highly doubt that now.

Maybe Sunapee will make a run at it if the weather turns. Whoever does might have a fairly profitable weekend due to the captive audience.

Damn! This weather is just killing us. BLAH!

As much as it sucks for 'us/me' personally to not have decent skiing available, I feel the most for those who make their livings off of the industry. As someone who lost a pretty good job due to bad weather creating a low revenue winter for a ski resort, I know the fear some of these folks must have at this point.

It looks like Bretton Woods is opening for the season this weekend, so maybe one NH T-Day option.

Good thing I waited on pulling the trigger on Liftopia tickets...

Seriously.

Throw me in with that audience. If there's a place in NH that's open on Sat, I'll be there.

In 1999, the only thing open on Thanksgiving was Killington. The only trail was Rime. Every trough had grass, moss, and rocks. They didn't last the whole weekend.

No big deal. We get years like this. 3 years ago, there was total crap for skiing until the end of January.

This is my first year like this. I started skiing in the Spring of '07. I've been spoiled by two good early seasons in 07-08 and 08-09...

It sucks... I'm a bit overloaded at work and I'd love to burn a few days and just go ski, but I can't really justify burning the days for so little skiing.

But oh well, I'm hoping for an epic back end of the season now.

I am telling you that my booking the trip to Killington next week did this. I have had to cancel Xmas trips because of the R word in the past. Like last year at Xmas.

I would still take the winter we had 3 years ago over the last 2 in a heartbeat. Granted the early season was bad, in fact I remember Portland reaching an all time high for the month of January early in the month of 67 degrees. However, late January through late April was some of the best skiing of my life. Consistent big storms and few, if any, freeze/thaw cycles.
