I'm trying to locate the story about the guy who, either in the 90s or 00s traveled from hill to hill in New England, trying to ski as many of them as he could. Sometimes he would get to as many as five in one day. Most of the motion was in Maine, at a lot of the small places, but he hit the big players too. He averaged 2-3 per day for a couple of months. For the most part, he only took one run top to bottom.

He wrote it up as a nice story, met a lot of interesting people, even had people waiting to welcome him. From what I recall, it was pretty much orchestrated and planned, including lodging in people's homes.

It was a nice story but I don't know where I read it. It's no where to be found on the net, which leads me to believe I might have read about it in a magazine.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

A link is posted somewhere on AZ I think as I remember being linked to his web site where he documented is journey. Pretty impressive stuff. I saw another site where some guys in Maine skied every Maine ski area within a few days or a week or something like that.

Man to have the time and the funds to do a ski safari would be awesome. I think in my perfect world I would stay with the big boys and ski only one a day but cover the entire northeast one year and do the west the next. Of course the only certain things in life are death and taxes so it will probably never happen for me but it's nice to dream about. Safety meetings help.

[FONT=Helvetica, Verdana, Arial]Yes, I have completed my adventure to ski 50 different ski areas in New England during the Winter of 2003-04. Oh - there were many detours along the way as I explored the rural New England countryside and met people along the way – my new motto – “life is about the detours!”
