Ski for Support, Ride for Relief:
Help Hunter Help Haiti
Hunter Mountain hopes to donate tens of thousands of dollars to survivors of the recent earthquake in Haiti, with the help of its Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend visitors.
Visiting skiers & snowboarders will be encouraged to donate a dollar at any point-of-sales location throughout the resort. Raffle tickets will also be sold during Après Ski bar promotions sponsored by Dutchess Beverage & Anheuser Busch who along with Hunter Mountain will be giving away thousands of dollars worth of prizes on both Saturday and Sunday. All proceeds of the raffles will be donated directly to the relief effort. Hunter Mountain will also personally match a percentage of all donations collected over the course of the weekend.
The resort will partner with OvrRride, an outdoor adventure tour bus operator who runs weekly service to Hunter Mountain and other eastern resorts from several convenient locations in New Jersey and NYC. OvrRide will run bus trips to Hunter Mountain on Monday, January 18. Hunter Mountain is taking $5 off each OvrRide group member’s lift ticket; OvrRide will take an additional $5 off the cost of the ride, totaling a donation of $10 per OvrRride day-tripper. Sign up for the Monday OvRride group trips at www.ovrride.com.
“We’re glad to be able to line up an effort to provide financial support in the midst of such disaster,” says Brian Czarnecki, Director of Marketing & Sales at Hunter Mountain. “We look to our patrons to assist us in the support of the Help Hunter Help Haiti relief effort during this holiday weekend. With the combined efforts of Hunter Mountain and OvrRide, we believe we can contribute tens of thousands of dollars to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in just three days time.
