If I hear one more summer loving schmuck say “at least it’s not snow” about this miserable weather I’m going to do something… It’s winter, hell it’s January, precipitation is suppose to be in the form of snow. I know we have thaws and some rain, but not 58 degrees and 2 to 4 inches of RAIN. Our season is short enough, if these hibernating whimps don’t like winter they should move or just stay in their house/cave cuddled up with their remote watching reruns of Leave It to Beaver. I’m not fan of summer, but I know the cycle, and I wait, not to patiently, but I wait for the return of winter. No season demands your attention more then winter and none has more potential for beauty and enjoyment. Let winter be winter.

All I and my friends in town kept saying yesterday was - "I wish this was snow". It would've been way easier to deal with 3 feet of snow then flooded roads, bridge closures and basements...

Yeah, but if it wasn't for the snow, the roads wouldn't be as flooded, bridges wouldn't be flooded and neither would basements. Efin snow!

We don't think that way... normal melt - no issues... :)

Agree. Every teacher I met coming out of the building yesterday said the same thing. I always respond with something sarcastic.

People at work know to not say that around me. 8)

The check out lady at Wal Mart, however, didn't. But I replied in kind and said that as a skier, I would have really liked to see it be snow.

I actually feel sorry for many of those people. They don't know what they are missing. The local schools here took away most of my kids winter break because most people don't know what to do with themselves in winter. I know if I didn't like winter I wouldn't be hanging around the Northeast.

I just diffuse the situation by saying I hope it snows in the mountains, cause I really enjoy skiing. It gets the message across in a tactful kind of way. Inevitably they change the subject since it's clear that a conversation with me about warm weather will be a non-starter. If they persist, I always suggest a vacation down south. I also indicate that I moved here to be close to the mountains and the snow.

That's one thing I never understood...if you hate winter that much...why do you live where it snows...or gets cold? Although, I think people just like to complain. In the summer, they'll gripe about the heat. Although, I will too. However, I get a pass because I like snow.
