It's actually channel 40. Between the cartoon network and the history channel:flag:

Not channel 40, I'm in South Nassau County not Suffolk and I do not have an HD box.

Channel 40 is the FX channel.

What are the letters for the ski channel?

Thanks

Speaking of cable, you know what I'd pay an extra $20 a month for? To not have to see the channels on the browser that I don't get. All we have and desire is our basic cable plus HD channels for networks and sports. Out of the 800 odd channels, we might actually be able to watch 200. I can't stand what a pain in the ass it is to channel surf. I'm sure they make you look at what you could watch in hopes that you'll buy it for an extra $20 a month, but I'd pay $20 to not have to scroll through all the crap that is useless to me.

WOW!
Thanks OP (S4)!

On Time Warner Albany, NY go to channel 1074 and select from a bunch of sports "sub-channels and then select a bunch of programming available on each of those "sub-channels" like PPV but its all free!!

Of course if TW & ViaComm don't work things out there will be NO SpongeBob in the new year on TW. I won't miss him or any of the other Nick ilk but losing the Comedy Channel will be a bummer.

....

Comcast doesn't suck as much as I thought it sucks before, because I do have Universal Sports Channel, way up on 429. I wonder how long I have had it... what the heck have I been doing? Spending too much time on the computer, no doubt...

Still no skiing channel - but Universal Sports channel seems to have a lot of skiing content right now.
that's what the early AM hours are for thinnmann..What's this thing called sleep?? Tons of stuff is repeated....
..CBC and VS have been nice so far! ..But limited in time. If the 2nd run of WC Event is delayed(snow/wind/temps) it sometimes takes 7 days to watch the 2nd run....... :lol:
*So funny seeing 20-24yo's regarded as veterans...

I'd miss SpongeBob, good thing I don't have TW for my cable company.

The OnDemand content comes in over the Internet.. Do you have a DVR?
That's one thing that I've liked about going with Fios...I can get On Demand (including the small selection from the Ski Channel) without having to get a DVR, which I really wouldn't have any use for.

I wish I had FiOS availability, if for anything to internet speeds it's capable of. As for the DVR, it now has one HUGE feature which makes it a huge plus. Multi-room viewing. Remote devices, like any Windows machine, etc, can play content stored on the DVR.

I can't imagine watching any TV without a DVR. I haven't watched a commercial in over 5 years. Even if I start to watch something on live TV I'll hit the record button and surf to something else and come back 15-20 minutes later so I can fast forward or hit the 30 second skip button a few times to avoid watching any commercials. Having a DVR also saves tons of time. An hour program is only 40-42 minutes long. Once you get a DVR you just won't watch TV without one.

Is Snuggie marketed by the same guy? I know ShamWow and SlapChop are.
I have DVR and fast forward commercials, but always watch the ShamWow guy.
He is funny.

ShamWow and SlapChop are marketed by Vince Offer and the Snuggie is just a commercial with no pitchman, though Snuggie has a theme song now.

Now let's just hope we don't need to get the "sports package" to get the channel.
