Not sure what Cannon your refering to.I live at the base of Mittersill and saw many a rainy melt while it was snowing elsewhere.62 days and every weekend from Nov 1st to mid April. In fact, late in the season I drove up on a Wednesday morning and was 48 degrees pretty much the whole ride.Get to Cannon and it was already 68 at the top of the notch.Happens all the time.

I do not recall any huge warm ups from the early Dec thru Feb. May have a single day event but nothing lengthy. The snow at the top was deep. Glades were open pretty consistently at the top. So it seemed to me. It was no 07-08 snow year(corect year?) but some of the posts make it sound dismal. Compared to Waterville. Cannon faired pretty well this year.

I say black. You say white.

I had less than half as many powder days as the last few years and also about half as less deep days and half as many epic days. Late start to the season and early finish (i.e. bad snow making temps in November and early Dec and no new snow in March-April). Ski areas may have made money, but from the perspective of any skier that loves fresh powder, it was definitely well below average.

True Dat.

Well I'm sure I'll miss quite a few pow days. I will likely be skiing midweek exclusively. This winter will be a sacrifice, It's gonna be tough after pulling over 500 days in the last five years. I"ll be thrilled to get 50-60-If ten of those were deep days I'd be ok with that.

Who knows maybe I'll pick up a seasonal in the mtns and ski a ton of awesome days. Really need to do this and do it right. Looking forward to working with primo New England fish though...

Wasn't that good a snow year in Colorado either. Southern Colorado resorts were good...

Yeah not a very good year in Colorado at least central/north. I found myself making the impossible trek too often down south. 07/08 was just about as good as it gets waaaay above average. 08-09 was above average also. This year was pretty miserable for the first half. It did snow at the end pretty good

That said I went skiing today on more than just a novelty strip. It was soft and smooth!

Yeah I'll be in Epping/Lee area. Knowing that its not permanent eliminates any job with any kind of real responsibility. I'm looking at August this year through maybe november 2011. I should try to keep an open mind though, nothing ever really goes as planned.

Lets drink some beers or something soon....

Welcome back, I live in Lee.

Yeah, and I brought the snow!

That first few hours at LL that day were my best of the year (in the northern mtns anyway). So deep, so light. That's the stuff that keeps me coming back!

O.K. starting to consider finishing out the summer/fall season at one of the coastal resorts and coming back out for the winter season.

It would be ideal to summer in new england, winter in the west. It's those damn shoulder seasons that kill me. I think I could stay profitable at least up to november in the seacoast. Maybe a country club or something? Paging Deadhead for ideas......

No shit! I'll be staying right on the boarder, right after the little golf place on 125. What days and where do you ski?

I try and get out 3 days a week, and do 2 of thoses midweek after x mas. I have a Killington blackout pass and a New England silver pass. You are about 4 miles from my house.

I was happy with conditions at Winter Park early Feb., but my buddy who lives out there was pissed. I told him he got too spoiled out there and should come back east for a while. Hopefully this coming season will be better than last in the East, especially March - April. Snowfall and temps sucked those 2 months...

I would think your best bets for solid fall hours on the seacoast would be wentworth by the sea or the Cliff House. Chef at the Cliff House is a ski bum who spends a good portion of his winter at Copper Mountain. I don't do business with him currently, but he knows me, so I probably could get an interview for you.
