I always feel a little rusty, maybe 85% first run down. End of the day I might be back to 95%, takes a little bit to get fully back into the swing. Mostly it's just getting back into skiing shape, hard to replicate the muscle use doing anything else. Good bit of cross training going into this season though, so shouldn't be too bad. Last season was a little tentative coming back from a broken wrist, got over that quickly enough.

I'm feeling a bit like you Andy, but from a different perspective. My last time out on a snowboard was March 28th which was a season ending collarbone break. As much as I am dying for the season the start in the back of my mind is a scary repeat of that accident!

I feel like I'll need to fall where I don't get hurt to actually get my confidence back. Taking the approach of "I just won't fall" will probably be bad in the long run!
bad news Neil. I always hit my fears head on by getting back out as soon as possible, before my fear becomes deep-set. What sux is that you've had several months to agonize over it. Go get 'em!

I'm always nervous my first run of the season.

I'm silly crazy excited like a puppy.

I'm a combination of both...and the mountain always looks steeper than I remember...

The other tough part about the first runs of the season is that I usually do them at the local WROD when the conditions are usually "firm". Not the best stuff to take a spill on.

The nervous feeling usually goes away after a run or two, though.
