Facebook quote "Just shut down for an hour to change over equipment...we'll be back up shortly...no worries."

In other words something is broky! Very sad! But I'll be nice and not post that on the facebook page! I have never seen all of the snowmaking go off at once unless you have a power failure or something catastrophic break!

I heard they were working on another pump and it's done and they are just switching over.

DMC,

When it comes from you, I believe it!

They had issues with pumps... The October flood almost took the whole shop out..
If I hear anything else I'll post it..

A few years ago, Elk Mountain in PA had a fire burn down there pump/compressor bulding, but they used the insurance money to rebuild with better equipment.

I was always told those electric pumps at Hunter came from salt mines that closed down in the 1950s.

Why would a Navy Battleship need an electric pump that big? Its not like Navy battleships had big squirt guns to take out the enemy or had rally long electric extension cords from shore. :smash:

No but they had big boilers..to make steam for the big turbines that drove them.

You had to see what a mess the hill was after that early Oct storm.. It looked like a bomb went off.

Anyone headed to Hunter on Sunday? (Sorry if I missed it).

DMC ... insane to head up for Sunday? I think temps have been a little high. At least that is what I was hearing from Gore.

This note from Jess this am....

"Snowmakers are moving to the Belt and Minya today. They have to shut down to fix a leak or something for an hour or so but they'll be back up and running and moving the guns out to new trails today. Still waiting for an update but Belt and Minya are next."

The air compressors are from ships. I don't know about the water pump. I'll ask.

Belt Parkway guns are on...

I don't see any Guns on the lower Belt near Racers.

I'd take mid station skiing any day. Now I have to decide if we are going over to Windham or hiking. The quad is running and boy is she fast. I meant the 6 pack.

Gotta get used to saying 6-pack. At least when the quad is moved to the west side, it will be a fixed grip. Less to break!
