The bumpers were ordered - actually pretty standard...I have seen these all over the US and Europe. Hunter staff removed these - hopefully they will put in some sort of plug - buy word is that insurance is going to go up since they took them off....interesting
Vail self insures.

The below was sent to me from a friend that pays $1200 for access to this locker room in Hunter. Despite the fact that the roof leaks badly, and has been for years and years, and the place has to be filled with mold it is a decent place with reserved parking. private bathrooms (big at Hunter), a shower, hot chocolate and comfy chairs.

Now they are being told that they cannot bring a beer that you purshased at the mountain into the locker room - but you can take it anywhere else on the property!

Dear High Peaks Members,
We would like to address a few important updates and reminders regarding the High Peaks Club.
Operating Hours Update: To better accommodate your needs, we will be adjusting the operating hours to ensure the High Peaks Club is unlocked when the building opens. This means you will now have access to your locker more than 30 minutes before the mountain opens. Please note that while the space will be accessible earlier, locker room amenities and services will not be available until the attendant begins their shift at 8:30 AM.
Alcohol Policy Reminder: To clarify the policy regarding drugs and alcohol in the High Peaks Club. We understand that there may have been some confusion or miscommunication around the drug and alcohol policy. As a reminder, “Alcohol: Alcohol is strictly prohibited in the High Peaks Club”. This includes alcohol purchased at Hunter Mountain outlets. Any member found violating this policy will forfeit their High Peaks Club membership.
Membership Agreement & Compliance:
As a reminder, all members signed a membership agreement at the beginning of the season. Failure to adhere to the policies outlined in this agreement will result in all household members being asked to vacate the High Peaks Club for up to the remainder of the season. Additionally, non-compliance may affect eligibility for membership renewal in future seasons.
Our goal is to provide an elevated locker room and parking experience, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain the standards of the High Peaks Club.

while I think that's dumb, it sounds like everyone paying for this signed an agreement that says no booze. feels like a non issue to be honest.

The bigger issue to me is that they only had access 30 minutes prior to opening until this change

They aren't just being told this now, it was in the contract they signed. Hard to argue they didn't tell you when they have a paper with your signature on it stating the rules. The whole thing seems very bougie to me anyway, when I ski my car is my locker room.

The contract did not say they could not have ANY liquor, just outside liqueur. If you take a stroll around the lodge and deck you will see all kinds of outside liqueur, mostly beer cans. The FDNY race day was crazy. Large coolers everywhere, even kegs.

Stop complaining about the alcohol policy. After all this is an "elevated locker room and parking experience".

I am not "elevated". That is for the High Peaks and Windham crowd. I am not "rarified" either.

I can bring all I want in and not be bothered, like the rest of the unelevated crowd

Was looking at skiing tomorrow or Friday, and see Clair's is closed today. Any intel on snow conditions, or no Z-lift weekdays?

Haven't been paying close attention to the reports, but I thought with the investment for automation, Clair's would be online.

No surprise if the Z lift is closed, as that's been pretty typical for weekdays. That doesn't necessarily mean Clair's is out of play, as they sometimes open it up without the West lift running and direct skiers to take Rusk Road to the North lift. It makes for a circuitous way to "lap" Clair's though.

Two things you might have going for you over the next day or two:
- Iliana passing through tonight, maybe?
- PSIA L3 assessments are going on at Hunter today & tomorrow. Skiing exams are today and I'd be shocked if Clair's isn't open so they can hit it (I've taken it there in much, much worse snow years and they still opened CW on exam day.) Teaching assessments are tomorrow and that's probably a little less of a must-open reason, but who knows.

Let's just say that PSIA-AASI moved their national freestyle academy because Vail couldn't get out of their own way and decided mid season to announce they weren't making a pipe at Okemo. 5 day long event moved to Killington who is more than willing to welcome and accommodate them.

So I wouldn't count on Clair's opening just for a L3 exam

From today - Euro ?? Blog??

Hunter Weather Forecast

Wednesday, February 12
Good morning skiers and riders!

Today will be intervals of clouds and sunshine with a flurry this afternoon. A low temperature of 14 and a high of 19 degrees expected at the Summit. Winds should be calm around 6 mph from the NW.

Tonight we'll see 2-4" before changeover to ice/sleet. We're quite windy Thursday night into Friday night. Calm again Saturday before another system Sunday, which may be a snow-mix-rain scenario. The Euro is warmer with more rain (though doesn't make sense with teleconnections -- will blog on this later). Storm signals continue most Thursday/Sunday's through the end of the month. No significant warmth in sight.

Killington doesn't have a pipe either.

Today the wet weather will continue, with a high of 31 and a low of 22 at the Summit. We expect the icy mix to keep falling through midday. High winds are also expected, which may impact lift operations. Currently, winds are blowing from the South at around 30mph, with some gusts exceeding 50 mph.

More likely due to ice. Tomorrow is supposed to warm up so I bet its open.
Nope - check out today's report on website....Only Black terrain open is lower highlands, which does have some steepness, but is quite short....great day for the exam folks..sure they will be doing a lot of one leg demos etc. to toughen it up a bit....

^ yeh, that 1st weather sentence was left over from yesterday's report. Looks like they copy/paste weather info from a local blog or report.

Glad I decided not to drive the 2.5+ hrs up today.
