We call that a turkey tuck here in PA..and they're like lemmings...when one gaper sees another gaper doing a turkey tuck..he/she follows suit..

I thought the Texas Tuck was when a gaper drops into a racing tuck but has his poles sticking up like errant javelins.
That would be the more narrow definition...any sort of wild, arm swinging, contorted approach to getting down the hill usually got tagged as the texas tuck out there...part of the humor being that it wasn't any sort of tuck at all.

October 19th and the hoopleheads are cramming into the ski shops already, walking around with boots on the wrong feet, putting the skis on in the showroom then falling into merchandise racks, buying up all the crap they can that they're never gonna use, etc.

One of my many gaper moments was putting my helmet on backwards. Had no idea until a buddy noticed it halfway up the lift. That was sweet.

As my kids get a bit older, and i'm skiing with them with some of THEIR friends around, I'm going to plan on having some gaper moments myself, ON PURPOSE ;) :spin:

Gaper moment last year was on the Jordan Bowl chair at Sunday River. I was slouching on the chair and slid off. Luckily, the chair was only a few feet off the ground and I fell into some nice fluffy snow. They had to stop the chair so I can walk back to the next chair and hop on that.
