We call that a turkey tuck here in PA..and they're like lemmings...when one gaper sees another gaper doing a turkey tuck..he/she follows suit..

That would be the more narrow definition...any sort of wild, arm swinging, contorted approach to getting down the hill usually got tagged as the texas tuck out there...part of the humor being that it wasn't any sort of tuck at all.I thought the Texas Tuck was when a gaper drops into a racing tuck but has his poles sticking up like errant javelins.
October 19th and the hoopleheads are cramming into the ski shops already, walking around with boots on the wrong feet, putting the skis on in the showroom then falling into merchandise racks, buying up all the crap they can that they're never gonna use, etc.

Gaper moment last year was on the Jordan Bowl chair at Sunday River. I was slouching on the chair and slid off. Luckily, the chair was only a few feet off the ground and I fell into some nice fluffy snow. They had to stop the chair so I can walk back to the next chair and hop on that.
