Before the Pats existed, and even after when they sucked, the Giants were the adopted team in NE.

Northern New England phenomenon only. Non-existent for those who grew up near Boston.

If I fell in the age bracket when the Pats didn't exist, there isn't a chance in hell I'd root for the Giants. No self respecting Red Sox fan can root for ANY team from NY. To root for the Giants is to align yourself with Yankee fans. The mere thought of which makes me feel like I need to take a shower.

Not true, there's a ton of Giants fans in Mass. Hell, Giant Glass, which is a Mass company was named because the owner is a Giants fan.

Agreed. Went to college in the 80s when Boston TV markets were forced to block out Pats games that weren't sold out (100% of them lol). We were outside that market, so could see them. After college some friends would still return to college town to catch games in pubs. I say with 100% certainty that NONE, NONE, NONE of my Boston/MA buddies ever stopping rooting for the Pats those years. Maybe 1985 carried us through for a looooong time (as pathetic as that showing was lol). Sorry..to even think of my W. Roxbury native Irish buddy going to dark side is laughable...he'd have been slaughtered by his friends and family.

They're all transplants from Northern New England.

I never once met a Giants fan from Mass growing up about 5 miles from where you live today. Then I move to Vermont and it seemed like 20% of the folks up there were Giant fans.

I was blown away. A serious WTF!?!? when they'd tell me they are Red Sox fans at the same time. That does not compute at all.

There are rules as a Boston sports fan and one of them is thou shall not root for any team from New York. Across this line you do not!!!!!

I have ONE family member that is a Cowboys fan, but everyone else is 100% Boston sports. My cousin Kevin latched onto "America's team" growing up. After years of trying to rehab him, we finally gave up and banished him to London a decade ago.

Now he's a Manchester United fan. Doesn't even watch American football any more.

It was the Cowboy Cheerleaders that did it, wasn't there some show or movie about them?

I remember in CT how pissed off everyone was when Bob Kraft bailed on using Rentschler Field for the Pat's stadium. Probably still haven't gotten over it

I just entered to win a catered super bowl party for 10 people from Moe's so if I win, I won't be skiing.

We decided to bail on skiing this weekend since the conditions are iffy, and I'm a huge Giants fan. We'll be heading up the next two weekends instead.

We will be skiing Sat for sure. Staying over and if conditions are good and we motivate we may hit the MT for a few runs on the way home. Gotta be home by 3 the latest to properly prep for the game, I mean the Pats victory.

Pats, Giants. they both suck.

Is that what Rothleisberger is saying these days?? ;)

Then again the Steelers getting Tebowed allowed Ben to go to Honolulu this week to play in the game that most pros would rather not be allowed to play in if their teams will still alive in the playoffs. I suppose if one has to play in a meaningless game, that Honolulu isn't a bad place to do so!
