Pairing Magic and Saddleback in the first round is not fair.

Pat's Peak vs Sugarbush ya ok! I am taking this seriously! Ranked according to eenie meenie minee mo method!

Maybe they should categorize the mountains/resorts such that smaller places go up against each other rather then including them with the big boys!

With the exception of Tony Chamberlain, the Globe really does not do a good job regarding skiing and riding. Like other Globe material, it is half-baked, inaccurate, and sometimes just dumb. I just looked at the article about the best "under the radar" areas. They had listed some obvious ones that I agree with (Burke, Middlebury, Black Mountain of Maine) with some really dumb ones that just don't fit in this category (Mount Sunapee?! Cannon?! Jiminy?! ) and one that has been closed for years (Tenney). I honestly think that some of their decisions are motivated by advertising dollars. How the hell is Sunapee under the radar? Go there on a Saturday and tell me it is not crowded.

A few years back they had an article about Burke that was obviously written by someone sitting in Boston reading a trail map and having never skied the place let alone having even visited. How this got published in what is supposed to be a reputable paper is beyond me. The writer made an obvious gaffe saying that the Willoughby Quad was a high speed lift (not even close). I wrote them an Email saying that they needed a correction to the article. They could not understand why.

The gaps between Round 2 players is interesting
JP vs atti. 618-322
K vs BW 583 vs 473 (closer than I thought it would be)
Bush vs. Strat 640 - 302
Wildcat vs Kemo 560-449
Loaf Vs Mt Sno 675-294 (I guess the readership doesn't get much down into the NYC area)
MRG vs cannon - 441 - 560
Stowe-Loon 610-399
Sunday River vs. Saddleback 640 to 360

Based on these numbers alone, #1 will go to Loaf/675, #2 Bush/Sunday River/640 , #4 JP/618

Seems to me with the exception of Cannon, the majority of voters are destination skiers/boarders. A lot more love for Wildcat than Attitash

I think because the readership is mostly Boston-based , So. VT gets ignored.
