With the last couple of Tuesday Nights remaining at Gunstock and temps being pretty warm (50* around 5 PM) we thought why not. We skied with our boys and a couple of their friends but technically broke up into groups of two. Our oldest was teaching his girlfriend how to ski and by the end of the night was actually getting up on edge which surprised me. Our youngest was skiing with his neighbor friend that has never skied with us because his skills would have been have impeded our skiing in the past. However, he has improved enough and we invited him along. So for my wife and I it was like a date!
We basically skied every trail and because it was light enough out when we arrived there was also some non night skiing trails available so we hit Flintlock Extension a couple of times. It is actually a fun trail with great pitch. For the most part, my wife and I skied off the Tiger Triple since the most entertaining trials are over there. However, night skiing at Gunstock has not offered much up for moguls. Upper Tiger used to have decent moguls but this year has remained groomed flat, still fairly steep but short. I wish Flintlock Extension was a normal night offering. However, Tiger, Cannonball, and Red Hat are fun night high speed cruisers. We did ski the couple trails off Pistol Triple (the park over there is BIG) and we made a few runs off Ramrod Quad but this lift is typically best served to get us over to the Tiger Triple.
We broke the night up into two 1.5 hour sessions first session check all the trails off the list and the second session was lapping Tiger Triple. In between, we ate at the Powder Keg and the food is generally pretty good there. The beer tastes the same everywhere!
It was a nice night to get out - certianly better than sitting on my butt at home!

Upper Tiger - funny how it looks steeper in person - fun little drop
