let's up the ante

....but keep it to your top ten to save Greg some bandwith . This is afterall the New England & Northeast ski forum....so give me your top ten. I'm sure a variation of this thread has been done before, but in keeping with the current run on individual state favorites, I think it's valid to expand to 'our' region.

Here goes for me.....

Stowe - as mentioned in Vermont thread - the high alpine and BC options
Jay - snow, snow, snow, glades, glades, glades
Sugarloaf - almost rivals Stowe with the high alpine, lacks consistent snow, but when good is the best piece of ski real estate in the North East. It is 'OH MY GOSH' everytime I go
MRG - again would leap frog up to number 2 if conditions were consistent
Sugarbush - best trail network in the east like I said in the VT thread.
Smuggs - slow lifts is my only complaint. BC options off of Sterling are beyond compare
Sunday River - I know many are down on Sunday, but perhaps more than anywhere else I've skied in the northeast, when there is no natural, Sunday can still give you the goods on more than cruising terrain. Their expert terrain is the most underated in the east.
Cannon - been awhile and I know conditions can be suspect, but still a fantastic skiers mountain
Magic - unfortunate mother nature doesn't put out for this hill enough
Pico - From Upper Giant Killer to the side pod area 'peaks', this mountain has a lot of character

I've got four never - evers that I have a feeling would rank in my top ten once I get the chance to experience them. Saddleback, Wildcat, Burke and Whiteface. I hope to bang out at least three of the four this season

Personal (Based on areas I have actually skied):

Mad River Glen
Jay
Cannon
Stowe
Sugarbush
Burke
Wildcat
Magic
Sugarloaf
Killington

Actual "Rating" all things considered, universal recommendation and objective:

Stowe
Sugarbush
Smugglers
Sugarloaf
Jay Peak
Mad River Glen
Whiteface
Killington
Sunday River
Cannon/Wildcat/Bretton/Loon (Tie)

I think those top seven areas are definite requirements in a definitive top ten in the east. The last three I would haggle over whether or not they really are top ten areas in a universal and objective sense.
