Catamount is up to 229 from 199. Still worth the money if you make the trips.

Price increase: in part due to no more A41, but also because of increased energy costs, more snowmaking, and the poor season.

S-O-S (Sunapee, Okemo, Stratton) has only gone up $5 for midweek only pass - $290 to $295...

And a friend who has a 7-day got two free passes for Sunapee just as a show of appreciation.

It's due in large part to the All4one pass going by the wayside. That pass set proces for other resorts aside form one's that could afford to set prices that catered to their very own clientele, ie: Stowe, Stratton... Why have a $300 pass that is similar to the A41 when you can charge $550? Supply, demand, and competition...

That said, the A41 was the best ski pass deal in eastern skiing history, IMHO. For those of you who have resorts not currently under "speculation," at least you know you're going to have passes. Those of us SR and SL skiers haven't a clue what's going on. Or someone has a clue and just isn't saying anything. :spread: :daffy: :snow:

Prices are due to expansion and expansion only IMO. The all4one came along to compete with the Threedom. All the finance stuff happened and know everthing has to be paid for. Looks like I'll be a one pass buyer at these Rates. I 'm not sure I can or want to Afford another Pass. I knew it was coming. $699 was the word for about 2 weeks. I really have no choice. To much invested to not buy the pass.

I wonder if this means that the Peak Resorts multi-mountain pass will be more expensive...:???:

I'd like to progress to getting a season pass...need excuses to get out more than 10 - 12 days a season. Hopefully I will still have the SkiNH pass option and AZ discounts at Pats Peak.

10-12 days easily pays for a Pats Peak pass. Just get the regular one for $269.

Season pass rates haven't followed normal inflation, nevermind ski area inflation. Hopefully the rates will be able to catch up over the next few years without the All For One pass.

I have to admit, I have already looked at Brettonwoods and Cannon's site to see options for next year. I would prefer just to sell my place and buy at the River. Don't think the family will make the drive though.

It's a big hit for Loon skiers; however the "limited edition" pass allows unlimited skiing at Wateville or Cranmore for essentially the same price as this year, but has blackout dates at Loon only. It's a nice way to fund the expansion at Loon but not penalize Waterville or Cranmore skiers uneccesarily.

Maybe I need to look closer. I could ski Waterville a few different days.
I need to re-read. thankx Stomach doc

Doc Your kids do the Seasonal there. How are the costs and the programs at Waterville? My son is on Loons Comp Snowboard Team. We had two events at Watervile this year for USSSA. Maybe I justt make a compelte switch. thoughts would be aprreciated.

I was curious so I did some quick calculations:
  • If you go on just weekends, I the break-even point is about 6 trips.
  • If you purchase the midweek pass for $169 and only go nights, the break-even point is about 6 trips (regular) or 10 trips (AZ discount)

Hammer if you race next year.... It may be a better deal to use the AZ discounts for occasional trips, pay to race and get a pass elsewhere. Food for thought. I have not been guaranteed AZ discounts with Pats yet either, but I 'm confident we will be able to work with them next season.

Thanks for the advice...that's what I was thinking about doing.

No matter what, I want to try racing (team or individual NASTAR) next year. Been told that it's addicting...

There are two programs at Waterville; the seasonal program for Skiers/Boarders which has a recreational bent. That's the one my kids are in; it's been a superb experience (I have an 11 year old and 6 year old twins). That's about $850/kid for the season.

The BBTS program is the competitive racing program (or freestyle) and involves intermountain travel, etc., and is more expensive (I think about $1K) and requires joining the club, the cost of which can be defrayed by volunteering to help at races etc. It's run in conjunction with Waterville Valley Academy and our friends rave about it!
It sounds like your son would be best for the BBTS snowboard team; you can get to their web site from the Waterville site.
