New season, new skis, new boots and new pass. This year, I decided to opt into the Icon/New England Pass and I am glad I made the change. Yesterday, I decided to check out Stratton (never actually have been up until now) and I was pleasently surprised. While Snow has been my go to mountain for years, I wanted to change it up a little bit - especially with Sugarbush on the pass. Being that this was only a quick day trip, I was pleasently surprised how empty it was for a Friday. They had plenty of runs top to bottom, and I hit Black Bear, Pollar Bear, Franks Fall Line, Drifter and Janeway/ East Meadow. Still breaking in the boots, I did not try Spruce (though it looks like a great trail). I am certainly excited to explore this place more... It's great that it is about the same distance. Some photos from yesterday.

Friday was a great day ant Stratton after last weeks snow and snowmaking. I did the 11-2 shift and found some great snow. The surprise was Stratton pulling a Magic and opening Liftline on natural with all the obstacles one would expect.
