I noticed that Sugarbush has picked up 10 inches in the last 48 hours, in spite of not having an actual storm coming through. There's a light snow falling outside my window as we speak and it's the sort of snow that's probably going to come down longer and harder up on the mountain. Looking beyond the unknown storm tomorrow it looks like we're going to have a couple more unsettled days of the kind that sometimes deliver big totals.

Ten inches down already this week and my totally unscientific hunch is that we'll see another 18-24 by the end of the weekend and then we'll be off to the races.

Which gives me an excuse to post this:

Nice! I just have a feeling later this week is going to be upslope love for the Greens too. Maybe Spillsville for the weekend?

Yeah! Enough base and we're in the money for sure. I'm glad, because I've the week before xmas off and itching to spend a day or two on the uncrowded scary trails ;)

I never saw that Bing Crosby piece before. Kinda hokey for sure, even for me! Weird to see people dressed in suits going to a diner. I wonder who that movie appealed to? It seems like nobody I know is that dreamy about snow. AZers, well, that's passion, not dreamy! Maybe it's the scary trail syndrome!

That's from the movie White Christmas. They're in the dining car of a train, heading north from Florida to Vermont. Of course, when they get there, there's no snow and their buddy, who has sunk everything into opening an inn, is hurting. Yeah, it's hokey, but it's kind of fun, too.

But let's see, inn in Vermont, no snow before Christmas...that reminds me of something.

That is a classic. Have that on my Ski Tunes playlist on the iPod (along with a bunch of selections that appeared in various ski movies).
