I watched the "amazing factories" show on NGC or somesuch - interesting stuff. I certainly changed my attitude about Bud... Check it out sometime...

I saw that show on one of my hi-def channels.Very interesting.I have to laugh at people that make derogatory comments about Bud after seeing the commitment to quality that goes into it.Every micro brew fan would cring if they saw the difference in how the process was handled reguarding cleanliness and absolute quality control. They are not the biggest in the world by making crap.It sounds like more lets bash the big guy mentality.Sunday River could not have a better owner if it came to that.

maybe they can use Bud in the lines instead of water to blow snow, thats about all that beer is good for.....

To quote a lift grease board message I saw a few weeks ago a Deer Valley, "Eat Yellow Snow, it Might be Beer!" ;)

Dont forget that AB is a massive company with many business units, just dont think of them as a beer company.

I believe that's what you'd call a vertically integrated company.

Guinness owns a string of resorts, a jewelry comapny, and a line of leather clothing.
Beer company diversification? Brilliant!

Vertical integration is "owning" a product from start to finish. That's the first part of what they own. Then they have other stuff like Busch Gardens just because they can I guess.

I can't say that I am fan of bud products. Just don't care for the taste or pilsner beers in general, but many folks love their product. I don't doubt that they have great quality control but so do most microbrew joints. Also, nothing beats having a beer at the brewery w/ your meal. AB can't really provide that!

That was a really good watch! The part that really blew my mind away was how the brew-masters at A+B would before final bottling, check the color of each batch, and figure out the proper ratio of each batch to mix together to get the exact same color for the final product. It was almost like one of those color match systems for paint we've all used many times at Home Depot!

I toured the Corona factory (hard to call it a brewery) when I was in Mexico. Aside from the fact it wa 8 am (samples are fun that early), I could readily understand why I don't like Corona. Every ingredient they used (except for the water, and I'm not so sure on that) was an extract. Concentrated hops extract is some evil smelling and looking stuff. About the only ingredient that wasn't some sort of extract was the rice, and that really shouldn't be in beer, anyway (I'm looking at YOU, Bud).

Just because Bud has great quality control doesn't mean that their product doesn't taste lousy. Quality control only assures that it tastes consistently shitty.

If they do buy and start re-naming trails things like Clydesdael and Shamu - I'll never ski there again...

Plenty of new signs on lift towers as well.

I could p*ss in a bottle and maintain good quality control...it doesn't mean i would drink it.

hey think of all us college kids... SCREW BUD... BUSCH LIGHT is where its at!!

man, once upon a time all purchases were figured in cases of BLD. A case ran about $10, so it was easy. Really put consumerism into perspective. Dinner or a case? Doctor's visit, or 10 cases? It was usually a pretty easy choice.

Just got back from Sugarloaf last night. No word yet on the sale. Seems everyone is tight-lipped about this.

Just shows how much credibility this claim has. BTW...have not seen the original poster...bet he is getting a good laugh from all this.

Yeah, no kidding. No one at SR is talking either although Les Otten was seen going through the South Ridge lodge last week with a couple folks and a clipboard. HOWEVER, it should be noted that part of ownership in his new development is a private room in that lodge, thus that might be what he was doing.

Despite getting a mention in the Maine Sunday Telegram, I seriously doubt Disney is in on it either. Chances are the deal is already done, but I bet some employess would like to know about their jobs...
