At this point nothing would surprise me. No one I know at Bean has heard anything about this but to be honest I can see where a corporate partnership would make sense. They did have a corporate partnership for making ski clothes for ASC for a few years.

I would be shocked if Bud would buy a ski resort because Warren Buffet is now a major shareholder and I can't imagine him wanting anything to do with a seasonal business based on the weather.

It's going to be fun to find out what happens.

I lOVE genny. I grew up in western NY. It was actually my first beer. And Rochester is NOT upstate NY....its western. You want upstate? try lake placid. I am not a fan of the cream ale although I have friends who love it.

Have you been to the plant? You can see the outake from the kodak plant into the river...look 100 yards downstream and see the giant intake for the brewery....a beautiful sight. Great falls brewery makes it I think?

Sorry. I grew up in Westchester where we consider everything north of our county upstate.

I'm sure you are right on this one. But I thought the Genny plant was in Auburn?

The thought of it being an Anheuser-Busch only shop is rather scary.

Their Bourbon Cask Ale was actually pretty decent, kind of a Sam Adams taste with a Jack Daniels-esque finish.

Also think of the possibilities of the commercials/adds if they were to get the ad agency that does the Bud/Bud light adds to do a Sugarloaf ad;)

The brewry is located at 445 St. Paul Street, Rochester NY. They actually only have one brewery (hence "one brewery, one great taste"). They might have bottling plants or other offices of some sort in Auburn?

I am amazed by the beers made by genny, mike oshea's...honeybrown...some other real quality beers. I just googled it and found some interesting websites on the subject matter (you will find lines from this post very simlar to lines on these webpages...hrmmm)

Saranac is brewed in Utica.... not Saranac Lake. anyone else find this odd?

Ben&Jerry's will soon be made in the midwest, Vermont Maid pancake syrup is not made in Vermont, ya have to read the label and the truth will be yours. Lots of fancy named bottled water is produced from some municipal water system, the water for Coors does not come from some stream deep in the Colorado mountains, Poland Springs water does not all come from Poland Springs, Jackson Hole Hamburger restaurants in NYC has no connection to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on and on, ...not odd at all. Sign of the times.

This is one of my favs. I like to see the look in people's eyes when I point this out on the label. I've seen it abbreviated as PWS, public water system. Its either Aquafina or Dasani that I've seen it on.

To get back on topic here. . . . . AB buying Sugarloaf would be sweeeeet for me. My wife works for AB and they would without a doubt be forking over lots of free passes. Probably free lodging as well. Say what you will about the beer, they are very generous with employee perks.

Seems pretty unlikely though. I can't see why they would be interested in getting into something like that.

The Saranac Lager is my personal favorite Saranac, but none of them compare to the brews put out by the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery. Their Frostbite Ale is amazing.

Dont forget that AB is a massive company with many business units, just dont think of them as a beer company. Similar to a company like GE, you cant spit with out hitting something made from GE. AB is already in the entertainment sector with Bush Gardens/Sea World, I think aquiring SB isnt such a wild idea for AB...they are a well run company

AB holdings:
Anheuser-Busch, Inc.
The company's principal subsidiary, the U.S. industry leader since 1957, and a worldwide operation. It produces more than 40 beers, flavored alcohol beverages and nonalcohol brews at 12 breweries in the United States and others around the world, and imports other beers for distribution in the United States.

Anheuser-Busch International, Inc.
Responsible for the company's international beer operations, developing its brands in markets outside the United States and for equity investments in non-U.S. brewers.

Anheuser-Busch Agricultural Operations
Produces and enhances the incoming quality of raw materials for the company's beers.

St. Louis Refrigerated Car Co.
Manages rail/truck transload operation and other properties in St. Louis.

Manufacturers Railway Co.
Provides terminal rail-switching services to south St. Louis industries and operates a fleet of insulated beverage railcars and grain hopper cars. Its two trucking subsidiaries provide delivery of cans, bottles and outbound beer for four Anheuser-Busch breweries.

Metal Container Corp.
Produces cans and lids for the company's brewing operations as well as for U.S. soft-drink companies.

Anheuser-Busch Recycling Corp.
One of the world's largest recyclers of used aluminum beverage containers. Provides a positive alternative to mandatory deposits and helps reduce container costs.

Precision Printing and Packaging, Inc.
Produces labels for the company's beer packaging operations as well as for other customers.

Eagle Packaging, Inc.
Supplies 100 percent of Anheuser-Busch requirements for liner material for both the crowns and closures used in beer packaging.

Longhorn Glass Corp.
Supplies glass bottles to the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Houston.
