I'm at a loss.... between Tim and I, we have 1 pass to Stratton, 2 passes to Ascutney, 2 passes to Loon, $30 discount tickets at Mt. Snow and 100 bucks towards Magic. I would really like to use up some of these passes on Saturday, but I fear conditions aren't the best at any of these locations and don't know where to go. Any insight on how these mountains are doing and where we should head?

Thanks

Unless Friday's weather event is a big 'ol dump, I'd burn either the Stratton or the Mt. Snow tix. the other places you mention are far more dependent on natural snowfall. Well, maybe not Loon, so much, but Snow and Stratton are also shorter drives and I'd save the longer drive to Loon for better conditions.

Ascutney, Mount Snow or Stratton. No need to travel any further than necessary this weekend. They all should recover pretty well. Unless of course the more northern areas score mostly snow, but it doesn't look promising. Save Magic for better snow conditions. And most people would argue Loon on a Saturday can get pretty busy (don't all places though, really?).

Hey, thanks guys. I'm still not sure where we are going to end up, but it looks like Mt. Snow at the moment. I'd much rather hit up Magic or Ascutney, but with conditions the way they are right now I guess it's better to hang on to those for now....

My 2 cents, I'd go for Mount Snow out of the available choices. Maybe Stratton... FWIW I've never been to Ascutney.

Actually I've never been to Stratton either, but I feel like I know the place already... ;)

Isn't it weird how popular opinion can lead you to believe something about a ski area even though you have never been there? Anytime someone tells me they went to Stratton I cringe and just say, "that's cool."

PS - Not knocking the place, just acknowledging that I am a follower on this topic.
