I've been seeing a lot of ads for the new Bond film. I'm a fan of Bond. Has anyone seen Casino Royale? Thoughts? Anybody planning on going to see it? And what do you think of the "new James Bond?"

I enjoyed it. if you like the old bond movies you will like it. it dosen't have the over the top high-tech scenes of the last decade's bonds. But it has some decent action especially at the beginning ant again at the end. the high stakes casino scene could gave been better IMO but it was definately worth seeing it.

It was great. I loved it. I'm a pretty solid bond fan and wasn't expecting much from James BLonde. But craig was great. He's totally right behind connery in every way. He was believeable, the stroy was good, the action was fast paced but not too absurd. he got beat up a little bit and the girl wasn't some dumb bimbo for token window dressing.
all in all - def. worth the money.

well, i swore off bond after one of the recent bond movies (i actually think pierce brosnan was a great bond and enjoyed his look and how he played bond, fwiw). i thought the series was going to much the way of high tech sci fi special effects crapola. i don't think i even saw the last two brosnan offerings.

i heard good things about the new bond despite the silly name. the new bond film goes back to its routes with a more rugged bond that is rough around the edges, makes lots of mistakes, and gets caught up in himself. the movie begins with bond getting his double O status and kicks it from there. i enjoyed it very much and thought it was the best bond in a long time. i thought the whole poker thing was a little too "cashing in on currently popularity" silliness, but it works for the story. any ways, this movie renewed my interest in the franchise, much like batman begins did for batman.

I actually just came out of the theatre and thought I should post a thread about it since I liked it so much.

Well, I loved it. I've always been a fan of Bonds, even the crappier ones and I'll echo the statement that this one had less high tech special effects involvement (makes me think of that dreadful scene with Brosnan kite boarding) and it was a good story with lots of good simple action.
I really dug the beginning sequence with the free running - that stuff always amazes me.

I'm very happy with their Bond pick - he might even become my favorite in time :)

Yes that scene is nuts. The guy who invented what the bomber was doing is named Sebastian Foucan. His website is Parkour.com
There is also a birtish company that does this too- i had their video's on my computer for a while but lost it..i'll find it and post it- it's NUTS.

Best Bond since Sean

Loved the movie, especially since they treat like a story and not a high tech extravaganza

But there is still only 1 bond

They leave soooo many open details...this guy will be bond for the next 20 years
