Do you analyze your runs relentlessly on the chair or the ride home? I yell at myself in the middle of a bump run if i feel like i'm getting backseat or lazy with my turns. Sometimes it seems like i'm never happy with the way a day turned out, technique wise.

Dont get me wrong, i still enjoy myself, but sometimes i think i take it too far.

I do analyze myself to a certain degree, but I don't yell at myself. I've been too good to me over the years to really get mad at myself.

The only time I'm overly critical of myself, is when my fitness isn't up to par. If I find myself getting overly tired to easy on the hill and making sloppy turns because of fatigue, I'll get upset with myself and dedicate more time to working out. Getting older sucks, this was never an issue for me in my mid to early twenties.

Yes, very much so. I don't let it ruin my day.

Sweating the details makes you a better skier.

I'm a mogul skier. The answer is yes.

It's a disease of all serious mogul skiers, I think. We're always striving for perfection, so we are constantly critical. Even the top mogul skiers in the world are critical of their skiing, no matter how good a run was.

Oh yes. And like all of the "yes" responders...not enough to ruin my day...just enough to make a point regarding "Continuous Process Improvement".

I'm only critical of other skiers faults. :smash: I'm perfect, if I have any issues its always the equipments fault. Nah, just kidding...even on that "perfect" run, you've bound to have had a bad turn here or there, misplaced pole plant, etc...I try not to dwell on the past, each ride up the lift clears the slate.

I can be critical about my skiing..but I also try to be easy on myself..the thing is that if I feel like my run isn't perfect..I just keep repeating the same run until I get it right..Technique doesn't matter to me as much as flow and fluidity..the past two seasons..my racer buddy has been teaching me to keep my hands in front..before that..I didn't really know what to do with my hands..

I think about it from time to time but I usually just try to go out and enjoy the experience. I don't like to take a completive approach to snowsports. I do however sometimes think that i could have gone bigger on that line or landed that ...
