I leave it on all the time, unless I'm messing around in a parking lot.

What kind of situations do you feel like you benefit from it being off?

I've never had a situation where I thought I'd be better off without it.

I know for me turning it off is key for me getting up my driveway when there's more than 3 inches of snow on the ground. The last thing I want is the car braking whiloe I'm trying to make it up my hill......loose traction and you'll be at the bottom real quick, and it aint a fun ride.

In my FWD VW GTI, I have to turn it off in the snow. If it senses the wheels spinning, the drive-by-wire removes throttle. The car comes to a stop. Not exactly the behavior I want climbing a snow-covered hill or unwedging it from a parking spot.

AWD Audis probably don't have all 4 wheels lose traction very often.

^ this. getting my 2wd saab started on a hill in the snow is miserable with it on, no problem with it off. I would hope an AWD audi would have no problem in such a position, but if you're on no-seasons I can see where it would come in handy.

Thankfully, Audi gives you the ability to turn it on or off. It's. My understanding, other makes don't give you the choice. They assume we're idiots and it's progammed "on" at the factory. My buddy who's a firefighter has some good stories about traction control and big wide all season tires.

I've turned it off a few times in our Audi, my wife leves it on.

I turn it off in my RWD 6-speed MB, mostly just for fun. Haven't found it to be too intrusive generally, adn it seems to help some on slick surfaces.

I've got a Saab as well and usually leave it on, but in the winter when I'm maneuvering in snowy parking lots I sometimes turn it off. It's always fun to play around in parking lots in the snow 8)

Even my driveway, which has a 90 degree turn into the garage, I love hitting the parking brake on the way in
