Its all about the moment. A long term memory is not a necessary item.

Dead shows were all about the moment...
Thats why we used to scrawl the setlists down...

Wow this is great! Originally I was going to make my handle here "box-of-rain" but beano is a old forum name I use elsewherel. Been to a ton of shows. Got to see phish this summer at coney island ... great venue. Not the best phish show I've seen but a good one anyway. Jay-Z showed up for two songs too. P.M. me if you want this show!

........ yeah May 13th and 14th. I think Bobby will be playing on the island sometime that month too. My buddy's got the tix ... I just tag along. If your coming in for a show let me know and I'll buy you a beer. Where does your band play DMC? I'll check you guys out if I can.

Jay-Z/Phish .... that 99 Problems was hot. The best part of Jay-Z was seeing the jaws drop of the kids who were serving the beer. First a bunch of hippies storm Brooklyn, then Jay-Z shows up.

I'll let you know.. I moved from the city up to Hunter Mountain... The bands I play in mainly play up here at the bars.. We used to play a bunch in Hoboken - but were too old for that now ;)

good to see some fans among the community

I suggest all of you check Assembly of Dust when they come near you next. Based upon what I've read of peoples tastes here - you all would probably enjoy a good listen of them on your next trip up to the mountains.

I have seen Asembly of Dust a few times usually opening for someone else. I thought it was a great sound, they opened for Rat Dog in Waterville Valley last Spring. Glad you found your way over here DHSkier.

Great to have found this page!!! 57 dead, 50+ phish, many many allmans, various jambands, etc... loved Wetlands in NYC (RIP) while it was there...

On Coventry, I'm psyched to have a group of people that KNOW THE AREA!! Even after we started hearing about all the nightmare backups, I picked my buddy up @ Manchester airport @ 4:30...er... 6pm, 'cause the flight was late (And while waiting, for the first time in my life, i slammed my right index finger in my car door. It certainly made the weekend inconvenient!).

We drove to Loon and stayed the night there. Got up @ 5am, and drove up via 3 way up north, then west through Island Pond, VT, and into Newport. we shot around on some back roads, saw the line, then went back into Newport, drove south on Rt 5 as far as we could, and then walked in. We happened upon our friends an hour and 5 minutes after we started walking, and the sun was just breaking through. What was supposed to be so difficult was becoming a perfect weekend. We just needed to hike 2.5 miles.

The most guilty pleasure was sitting in Newport at a diner having a big eggy breakfast while so many were stuck on 91. We had no idea at the time.

Anyway, I skied Burke over the weekend and it was killah!!!

That was a great venue... SO many great shows... just incredible to watch the whole "jamband" scene develope in front of eyes in that joint...

Now CBGB's is on the chopping block... Great memories of the Ramones there... wow...

It's tough for me to watch our middle class institutions erode in front of our eyes...
so sad...

We used to call that place the "Sweat Glands" .... man that place would get hot.

A friend of mine brought some innocent girl from colorado there once and she got dosed. She ended up in the psych ward for 12 hours.

What a bummer... in my scene days, I never did witness such a thing...

Sweat Glands is absolutely accurate. Down in such a funky part of town on Laight Street. I lived within walking distance at the time it closed.
