AZ Team Racing 2/27/06

Conditions: Cold, hardpack but surprisingly edgeable

The team put together another solid effort last night placing 6th for the night which kept us in 3rd overall. All but Charlie were in attendance. Bob's son Conner came out for his first turns since breaking his arm - a very strong young boarder. We all got there early and camped out at the top of the FIS course to run pairs 1-3. Ga2 ran on his Scotty Bob's since Tigger had abused his Karhus at the Telefest. Cool looking skis. Tree_skier sprayed Bob on their first run slowing him down a bit. As usual they both ran well enough to appear on the first page of results and earn us points. Scott edged out Ga2 in individual times (of course the tele handicap does wonders for Ga2's contribution to the team score) and Scott managed to make that tricky first gate  . His second run Ga2 came out of one ski, threw it over his shoulder and proceeded to run the gates on one board  , took a little spill, continued again and triumphantly crossed the finish line pumping his ski in the air which got many cheers from the top of the course. Chile and I both had decent runs but felt we could have been better. I finally feel like I'm starting to get a clue about this racing stuff now that the season's almost over…
Apres always a good time. Chile had beers waiting for us, good man. Hope you're feeling better. Bob kudos for putting out a strong effort on minimal sleep, it was fun to see Conner out. Ga2 - there was a video, your performance earned much applause and a slo mo replay. Results seemed to take forever to come out

I won't be there next week. 3rd thorough 5th place has tightened up a bit, we'll need some good times to keep us in 3rd. Knock em dead boys.:uzi:

In the first run, I thought I had done better than my time indicated, but in the second run I was all over the place (we all were). Hey, we're still in 3rd place.

ga2ski got a big cheer up top when he "did a Bode" and completed his 1st run on one ski. Truly hardcore.

And baby it was cold up there last night........the bar filled up quickly after the second run. Not a lot of recreational or fun runs happening last night.

There was video . . . Damn. I wish I had stuck it out a little longer. I did get home to see all but the first 5 minutes of 24 though. Glad I provided everyone with some good laughs and cheers.

Monday Night AZ crew -

Here are the extra non-Monday nights that we may be racing.

King of the Hill - Thursday 3/9/06 Not sure who qualifies for this (But I would like Treeskier should make it)
Finals - Thursday 3/16/06 (I think we should make it as a team assuming we can stay in third place for Mondays, but I don't remember the rules)
Friday 3/17/06 - Top 50 racers from all nights compete against the top 50 racers from Gunstock. That leaves me out. Might be Treeskier again.
