So, what new Alpine Zoners have you had the privilage of skiing with this season? What have you gotten out of meeting new people? What do you hope you've given back?

Since this is my first year skiing with AZers, I have quite a big list. (Sorry if I miss someone.)

Greg
Bvibert
2knees
Severine
Powhunter
Johnnypoach
Beetlenut
JimG
Ssudah17
King Slug
Marc
Mikey1
MrMagic
Grassi21
Madskier6

I didn't list everyone from the Hunter gathering because I only skied with a couple of people that day.

Things I have learned: JimG taught me that being in control is extremely important. It doesn't matter how fast you're going as long as you're in control. The sundown crew taught me both a lesson in solidarity and to not worry so much about what people think of me/my level. Pat showed me that no matter how fast you are, there is always someone faster than you, and his name is Pat. Brian reminded me that I have too much upper body movement. MrMagic gave me tips on how to get through a bump run without landing on my face. Greg taught me to ski like I'm holding 2 beers, and also how to upload to ftp

What I hope I've given back: 1) for people to not take themselves (or me) too seriously; and 2) that girls really do exist on the internet.

Dont ever let people give you shit for ability. No matter how good someone is, there is someone else out there who would clean their clock.

I had the great pleasure of meeting you and your husband this year. Had a blast at Bromley. You guys let me ski with you when i was looking at a gloomy foggy day skiing by myself. that was super cool of you guys.

Met Severine, the beauty behind the bvibert household. Probably the brains and braun too!

MrMagic, who was far more graceful and humble in victory then i was in defeat. Great job my man.

Wa-loaf and Ta&Idaho at hunter. only briefly but both these guys are top top level skiers.

I met a few people briefly at sundown. Beetlenut i think, but only for a run or two. Reefer and friend also at hunter.

i know i'm forgetting some but my memory sucks big time. great year and it aint over yet.

Wow, this really bums me out. I didn't meet-up with anyone this year.

I was at Bromley at the same time as Pat and the Evils, missed-'em.
I was at Black same time as Deadhead, even traded a few PMs ahead of time, missed-'im.
I was at Cranmore same time as Ckofer, missed-'im.
I was at Sundown same time as Brian and Greg, saw-'em from a distance, missed-'em.

I think there were a few others as well...:-(

I'm glad I could be there for ya from an alcoholic geek standpoint...

Great to meet you and Tim this season. That night at Mohawk seems like an eternity ago. That was the start of the CT skiing season. I can't believe we're staring at the end too quickly approaching... :(

This is where logging all my outings as TRs and linking to them in my sig will come in handy...

it wasn't easy for the 3 of us to avoid you all day. We had to ski the entire day in the woods to pull it off :p

I didn't get out to as many gathering as I had hoped to...

and to not worry so much about what people think of me/my level.
This is something I always struggle with. But it was great skiing with you this season! Next year we'll have to have more estrogen nights, even if it's just the 2 of us! :D

Met Severine, the beauty behind the bvibert household. Probably the brains and braun too!
Now I'm just blushing. :D

Let's see, I skied with:
Greg
MRGisevil
MR. evil
Johnnypoach
Grassi21
2knees (whom I first didn't think I skied with but it looks like we may have shared the slopes on 12/28 @ Sundown)

I **think** that's everyone. Seems like I should have met more but I did a lot of solitary skiing, and I didn't end up with many days out.

Still, it was fun! Hoping to meet more next year (and ski more with those whom I've already met)!!

I met BobR and Loafer89 at Sunday River. Both really nice guys. I was hoping to meet some AZers at the Sugarbush trip Friday but I am swamped at work and can't afford to pass up the OT especially since I'm on vaca next week.

I think this is a pretty accurate list:

  • MRGisevil
  • Mr. Evil
  • wa-loaf
  • downhill04
  • Mikey1
  • gmcunni
  • KrisSkis
  • ssudha17
  • MrMagic
  • o3jeff
  • skibum9995
  • awf170
  • mattchuck2
  • Zand
  • KingM
  • ski_resort_observer

Taken from this thread:
http://forums.alpinezone.com/3281-how-many-other-alpinezoners-have-you-met-person.html

Like I said all (well most) good people. Can't say I learned anything from any of them, but I'm sure they all learned some valuable life lessons after meeting me...

Just BobR this year. Poor planning, coupled with Una_dogger just learning to ski. Next year we'll be out on the slopes more and looking for more company there. :)
