And to think when I was in HS, you'd get busted for having a seed!

I’m sure thats one of the reasons alcohol and tobacco companies want marijuana to stay illegal federally.I find for me that about 15-20 milligrams of an Indica based edible has the same relaxing effect of say 3-4 glasses of red wine and it's likely no where near as bad for you as alcohol. And if I'm out at a concert or something, a similar dosage of a sativa based edible will have a similar 3-4 drink effect without the drowsiness. In addition to no longer smoking it, Ive also found myself drinking far less alcohol over the past couple of years. Overall legalization has been a net positive for my health.
Yep. All of that for me too. I can eat 10 mg, barely know that I’m high but my anxiety disappears and I forget drinking all together. My health is much better off and I’m saving money. Marijuana for the win.Truly heartbreaking about Skidork and Ty's daughter. I cannot begin to imagine the grief.
As for legalization, it's made me completely give up smoking cannabis outside of socially. I wasn't a big partaker anyway for many years, basically just weekends or socially. But now I'm all about edibles. The formulas are precise and reliable. I know exactly what the impact will be of the dosage and dominant characteristics in the recipe.

Edibles are a great way to partake. The formulations have become very consistent as dhs pointed out. I still like the vaporizer but bought a few edibles and was impressed with them.Hmmm.interesting. I quit drinking for a year but unfortunately came back to it..in a much smaller way though. Alcohol truly is nasty stuff when you over do it. Now that I'm moving to VT..maybe I'll give this stuff a try. I gave up smoking it a million years ago.
Could do absolutely nothing or bring on an existential crisisBefore widespread legalization I was always leery of eating cannabis because you never truly knew beforehand how it would affect you.
Sativa does that for me. Indica not so muchThc is strangely a performance enhancer for me. It helps me let go and jump right into a flow state.
Smoking an indica before skiing could be a recipe for disasterSativa does that for me. Indica not so much
Someone’s feelings hurt? How this thread has morphed into what it is now, is kind of disturbing.
What started out as a thread about a ski family, who is known by many in the ski forum community and the sudden loss of their 20 something daughter likely due to fentanyl laced pot, has now become a pro pot in various forms thread.
Maybe what this thread is about now should be continued in the "legalize it already" thread in the miscellaneous topics forums?

No one is advocating for taking fentanyl and if marijuana was legalized and controlled then fentanyl lacing it would be no issue. I have lost close friends to it and banning all drugs and leaving people uneducated is not the answer. How this thread has morphed into what it is now, is kind of disturbing.
