Heading up to Smuggs and Jay the day after xmas for 3 nights. (staying @ Smuggs Inn).
Having never skied either, what are the best lodges to hang at/park. Looking for ease to lifts, bar, and not overrun with youngens, prefer the adult atmosphere.

Thanks, and hope ya'll are enjoying the awesome snow!

at smuggs you'll want to head past the main entrance and drive up to the Madonna/Sterling base lodge...thats where the main mountain is at along with a rustic lodge, good bar/food and cold LTA's on tap...!!!

The Main entrace and the lower part of the mountain is all greens/blues for ski school and beginners...Smuggs does a great job of seperating the beginners from the advanced riders/skiiers....

there are no real booting up or lodge facilties at the Main entrance. That's for the overnighters. We booted up in a restaurant, and finding a place to stow gear can be a challeng.

Try to get there early enough to Madonna/Sterling lodge to park close by. The walk up can be arduous, especially if you have kids. A dropoff scenario works better there.
