Ok. Maybe its not in the northeast (Me thinks we need more stuff on the mid-atlantic stuff) but the Foxfire at snowshoe is excellent.

It is very good. However, the Red Fox at Snowshoe is hands down the best dinner I've ever had in ski country. Brian, the owner of both places is a great guy who really knows what he's doing.

For what Snowshoe lacks in terms of a ski product, they truly make up for in the way of Apres skiing.

.....well, sir, you are an addict. It's time for an intervention, rehabilitation, and time in a half-way house in, say, Texas. Far, far away from snow....

Get help !

there are grills at the top of Blue Sky Basin at Vail for public use. Y'know, in case you had an extra steak or hot dog and some charcoal in your backpack....

I actually did that. Brought some hamburgers and accoutrements out with me. The views of the Gore range up there are simply unrivalled. You get the added benefit of not having to run back to Two Elk with the rest of the herd at lunchtime so you can get more runs in. Good times.

Actually, when it's cold out we do tend to find an indoor spot to eat. But we always bring some grub. I'm hard-pressed to pay the prices at some of these places.

I love Spring skiing because you can picnic outside. And of course those Killington Bay 1 BBQs w/ the zoners...fun times!

I can be found tailgating as soon as it gets a bit warmer as well Terry. I think i may have even seen you do that once. I must say the Killington group does that really well..
RivercOil.... Loon prices are the most resonable in the region. IMO. The only place they don't let you brown bag is Governor Adams Bar Babes. The view from camp3 is great some buy lunch some bring it.
Usually a nice ale on draft as well for those who don't wait till the lifts close. Loon ale is a favorite I have heard.

i think it is "watson's shelter" at alta-it is the floor above the cafeteria- they have muc luc slippers to put on while you eat. i remember when you had to bring your own wine bottles up there and now they have a nice wine list-since they changed the utah laws for the olympics

Copper at "The Beach" sipping 24-oz Coors in the sun.

I refering to Copper Mountain Colorado?

Last I knew, "The Beach" is at the Legend - A Basin. At least that was the case when I lived out there 12 years ago and the times I've visited since.

I think you're right too. At Copper it's halfway up the hill. At A-Basin, that's where they have the year-end blowout, no?

The Beach as far as I know it, is the parking lot next to the Pallavicini chair at A-Basin. It has a 'Legendary' tailgate scene

Christiansen's at Jiminy Peak is great. Awesome slope-side atmosphere and if you get in there around 11 AM, it's dead. I highly recommend the mountain burger. It's like $6 and is of standard bar&grill quality. Much better than a cafeteria for probably the same price.

Top of the Notch for Venison Stew

I found Belleayre to be, ummmmm, lacking, and very expensive. And it's a pain that it's in the basement

Ever since we've been skiing though we've been brown baggers....and now with 5 of us...plus with your own stuff there is no waiting in line....

Nice big sandwiches...leave the condimnets off and get them from the lodge, snickers and clementines....make sure to pack away some snickers and clementines for the lift for a like extra boost later...

Ever eat a frozen clementine? Or frozen snicker?

Make sure you get the small snickers...

Food at Le Massif in the summit lodge is outstanding.Nothing is fried. Very good. Generally we brown bag it with the exception of drinks.

Connected to the Grand Summit at Sunday River is this tiny little place called I think Moonstruck Cafe. Real good fast food, and a perfect alternative to crowds at all the Sunday River base lodges.

For post-skiing fare at Sugarloaf, Geppeto's is hard to beat for awesome wings and burgers and a great brew selection. I also thought the Mushroom Bar & Grill at Sugarbush was very good. You can see my preference for the bar/grill atmosphere...
