I think CT wins hands down. I mean common, we have Woodbury! They're the first to open every year!! :daffy:

Im guessing that i am the 'indecisive dude'. In that case my vote goes to new hampshire. NH gets the vote simply for the fact that it is the home of 48 4000 foot mountains and the rest of new england combines for less than two dozen. NH may not have the resorts of the rest of new england but the simple elevation advantage indicates that the goods are there if youre willing to look for them.

i change my vote for vermont. rhode island is pretty bad ass though.

unless your into the hiking/touring thing, then n.h. terrain easily takes the cake imo.

Maine, the three S's. Sugarloaf, Sunday River, and Saddleback. They can compete with anything in VT, NH and NY. Plenty of feeder hills too. Also, cause it's the only one not on the list yet. :spin:

Vermont is pretty happening for lift served, no question. Maine makes up in quality what it lacks in quantity. Nah Hampshah really takes the cake when you look at backcountry.

Now I can just hear the VT'ers, "But we've got Mnasfield and Smuggs and we've got Big Jay and we've..." VT does not have the Franconias or the Presidentials or really anything above treeline. Tell me how much beeter VT is when we're at the top of Airplane, or Stinkbug or Oakes Gulf, Or GoS, or...

BTW, didn't we have this exact thread last season? Or was it the season before? Or do we have this thread every season?

Shhhh...dude. Next thing you know you'll be telling people how wonderfully uncrowded the slopes are, too. And this past weekend proves just how limited and terrible the non-skiing options are, too !

Maine!!
Thats my vote, Sunday River is still my ultimate favorite and there are a few great places to ski and crowds arent a problem like many other mountains.

I'm a Mainiac for sure...no other place in the NE I'd rather live...and while I think Sunday River and Sugarloaf are two of the top 5 mountains in New England, I'm going to have to give the nod to the Vermonsters...only because of northern VT...you can keep everything south of white river jct. N VT has great terrain and more snowfall on average than Maine...while we got some sweet dumps last spring, overall, VT gets more consistent snowfall with terrain that's as good...if not...(ouch, this pains me) a little better.
